Heres a novel veiw... I used to work there. I am a nurse with the highest moral integrity. My patients come first. american seniour communities puts $$$ first Their habit of hireing new LPNs can be suspect but when you consider that the unit managers are LPNs with less experience than most of the CNAs working there I get scared. There are only 3 RNs on the scedule for 180 beds and three shifts . LPNs have to be under tha direct supervision of an RN for patient safety They are not alowed to initiate orders from Doctors and are not alowed to do first assesments of patients. When charging for patient care thet bully the nurses into charging a higher acuity level than can be given... Stateing that giving a person a sip of water should be charged as a total assist with a meal... Integrity aside the lack of knowlege could seriously impact your loved ones care
Pros: Caring staff who try their best
Cons: inexperience and almost criminal understaffing with unqualified personell
