Finally - a real Philadelphia steak sandwich - and they are good! 9/5/2008

I am from South Philadelphia but have been in NYC since 1978 years. I have searched for and tried many so called "philly cheese steaks" around the city for years. - None, and I repeat none, have come as close to a real South Philadelphia - corner made, steak sandwich as do these! You have a customer for life! more

Great lunch spot 7/8/2008

Nice place, I love their samon burritos (minus the beans). Their fries are a little too fancy for me, if they served steak fries instead I woulda gave them 5 stars. Yet to try the cheesesteak, cant seem to get off their yummy buritos (w/ free side of tortilla chips)... -Now all we need in this area is a proper gourmet deli that serves fresh cosi sandwiches... more

TERRIBLE, SERIOUSLY AWFUL 10/16/2007

HONESTLY, when they say cooked to order they are not joking. It took me around 25 minutes to get my cheesesteak and i was the ONLY one in there. What was more frustrating was the hispanic staff that thought it was more fun joking around and doing NOTHING while my food had not even begun to be cooked. On top of all of that, they looked at me as though I was doing something wrong. I felt uncomfortable. I will never go back. Pros: Many condements Cons: Horrible Food more

+1 on the steak burritos (no beans, extra rice), skip the tacos... 7/18/2007

have to agree with the previous review and the editorial review--skip the tacos, go straight for the steak burrito. i like mine without the beans and with extra rice, and they are quick and very reasonably priced. unlike lots of places where you just get filler for your buck, this place actually tastes good. i have no comment on philly cheesesteaks at this place...they aren't my thing. but burritos i know (i'm from southern california), and the ziggiz ones are head and shoulders above the mediocre stuff here in the city. plus, where else are you gonna get that kinda food at 3 a.m.? Pros: cheap and good burritos 24/7 Cons: too bad if you don't live within the delivery zone more

ZIggiz cheesesteaks put Geno's in its place! 2/20/2007

I go to Ziggiz every now and then for a cheesesteak. Last weekend I went to Philadelphia and figured I'd try the "world famous Geno's cheesesteak". I hate to break it to Geno's but Ziggiz cheesesteak's put Geno's to shame. After eating a Ziggiz steak sub it was Genos was mediocre at best. more

Ok I guess 11/19/2006

My office ordered some tacos fromt his place. The taco shell was a bit stale though the filling was veru delicious and overly salty like in other places. For the price the value was excellent. Pros: Cheap more

Horrible Food 11/1/2006

I tried this place twice and both times the food was very disappointing. I'm from Philly and the chicken cheese steak was nothing like Philly's. I also got a burrito and it was bland and hardly mexican. Pros: Cheap Cons: Food is bland. more

Good all around selection of food. 9/14/2006

Place is convenient and had freshly prepared food. Quick delivery too. Good cheesesteaks and my favorite are the chicken soft tacos, could eat like 5 of them. more

awesome steak burrito 6/21/2006

My roommate and I randomly went into Ziggiz about 6 months ago and were told to try the steak burrito. It was awsome! I'm pretty sure that most weekends we either order the steak burrito and fries or we at least talk about doing it. The staff there is very friendly and the food is great. more

24 hours of goodness 5/6/2006

The prices are extremely reasonable and the food is made to order. Pros: affordable, 24 hours, decent food more

  • The Scene
White subway tile, bright front windows, soothing olive and yellow walls and sturdy wood tables come together for a clean, efficient decor. Open 24 hours, the spot is a favorite among students pulling all-nighters, locals loading up after a boozy night out and early-rising construction workers. No one seems to mind waiting a few extra minutes as their food is cooked-to-order.

    The Food
The best stops on this all-American fast food tour include Philadelphia, with terrific cheese steaks comprised of fresh, soft rolls, certified Angus beef and Provolone (or Cheez Wiz on request); Buffalo, with the crispy, meaty wings slathered with a well-balanced, tangy and spicy sauce; and California, with over-stuffed meat or veggie burritos with rice, beans, jack and cheddar cheese, pico de gallo and sour cream, though skip the sloppy tacos. Juicy Angus burgers get top billing for good reason, as do the fryer-fresh French fries.
