My sister's child attended horsecamp here and it was a memorable experience for the wrong reasons. They were told by the owner, Laurie, that their child would spend the mornings riding and the afternoons working on crafts. They would take trail rides, specifically around Washoe Lake that is close to the facility. This never happend. Instead their child spent about 2 hours in 5 days riding. No trail rides, and no crafts were made. Instead they spent most of the time cleaning pens and stalls. Only a couple of horses were used for lessons, so the other children had to take turns riding while the others sat doing nothing while waiting their turns. The horses were quite tired. There were only two staff, the owner and an assistant, and the kids were not supervised when the staff was giving a lesson in the arenas. The kids with more experience spent the majority of the time riding, while the beginners got only a few minutes. There were about 8 kids at camp. The cost was considerable. $450 for 5 days, including Sat for the ""show"". In all the kids spent about 3 hours max on horseback, including the ""show"". The parents arrived at the specified time of the show to find their kids cleaning pens. Not one horse was had been taken out or brushed or saddled. The show started over an hour late. Then at the show, the beginners rode for a short time, while the more advanced kids rode for a very long time. Not a very professionally run place. Take this review to heart and find a quality run facility, because this is not it.
