Yukimi

Well all I can say is that maybe those of you with a good report on this tomaine infested roach hole, is that it must have been better back on 07 and 08 because here is an update on 2010. I was there last night, the windows were so filthy it was our first clue. we got seated at the grill, it too was very dirty, and when the gal went to clean it , I am not sure if it was the dirty towel she was using but the grill emitted an odor of what I can best describe as a combination of wet dog and stale fish combined, literally made me sick. Then the best is yet to come, my daughter and I ordered sushi before our meal. I had a simple california roll and she had a spicy tuna roll, BOTH WERE STINKY , STALE AND ROTTEN. Unfortunately we each ate one piece and are deathly ill from it today. I called the waitress and told her the fish in the sushi wasnt good and we couldnt eat it. The sushi chef who is also the manager, turned to me and yelled in front of other patrons, IF YOU DONT LIKE SUSHI NEXT TIME DONT ORDER IT, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU CAN JUST ORDER STUFF AND DONT LIKE IT AND SEND IT BACK. I told him he was very rude and we belong to the local chamber and also own several business's in Manteca and that is not a proper way to treat a customer. My husband is diabetic, and I said no teriyaki on the meat or fish but the other soy and garlic butter is fine. He squirted teriyaki on all the shrimp and then gave our shrimp to someone at the table that didnt even order shrimp and picked out the few pieces that didnt have teriyaki and gave it to us, I said are you going to put some soy or seasoning on our meat and fish? He slammed a bottle of soy in front of me and yelled WANT SOY THERE IT IS!!! YOU SAID NO SAUCE, I corrected him and said, I said no sweet teriyaki the rest is fine, he then told me to do it myself. My daughter then went to the restroom, (at this point we couldnt even eat the meal) and she proceeded to take pictures of the filthy restroom and alerted the rest of the family wait till we get back to our own place to use the restroom, as it was a petri dish in the making back there. I have some pictures and I will try to insert what the bathroom looks like in this filthy place. The health department will be paying them a visit and I am warning you all to please approach with caution if you go near that place you are likely to get sick , as we did, and you are guaranteed to be treated rudely and unprofessional. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY!!! more

My Husband and our 3 year old son have been going to Yukimi's a few times a month for the past year or two. We come for because #1 the food is excellent, #2 the waitresses are very nice and attentive, and #3 for the chef's amazing talents with the way our food is prepared. My son likes to see the flaming onion volcano. The food is always wonderful. The overall experience is great...I give Yukimi's 2 thumbs up!! Pros: Yummy food, Great service, Nice Atmosphere. Cons: The occasional wait, is worth it for the food. more

I love Yukimi's. I've been working in Lathrop for a year and a half, and every business lunch we go on is always there. Everyone in the office loves Yukimi's. Their staff is very pleasant, and the chefs never fail to impress us with their talent on the grill. I've tried most of their lunch dishes and I have to say that the all time favorite of mine (and the majority of those in the office) is the Steak and Calamari lunch. The pink sauce they give you goes GREAT as well. If you're a sushi person, that is just as goooood. I would recommend getting there a LITTLE early if you're on a schedule though. They seat you right away, but sometimes they wait for your table to become full before they bring the chef out. Pros: Food and service Cons: Sometimes a little wait more

Well, we just moved to Salt Lake City and are sad to say goodbye to Yukimi. We have been dining there for the last 3 years. The sushi is wonderful. You must try the Manteca roll. The teppan chicken/steak/shrimp is outstanding. If you are going to get steak I recommend the fillet vs the sukiyaki. The tempura is also pretty good. The soup is wonderful and so is the salad dressing (if you order teppan you will get soup and salad included with the meal). The chefs are all nice guys. Frankly, a restaurant this good shouldn't be in Manteca. Pros: Great sushi and teppan style food Cons: Its in Manteca (aka Lard, CA) more
