Youth Focus is a nonprofit United Way agency that addresses the needs of children and youths with emotional and behavioral problems. It provides a range of services for individuals up to the age of 21. The agency has a team of therapists, medical professionals, counselors, case managers, volunteers and law enforcement officers. Youth Focus offers residential facilities and counseling and community support services for people who are at risk, in crisis and suffering from complex mental health problems. Its residential facilities include Act Together Crisis Care, the Psychiatric Residential Treatment Center, Therapeutic Foster Care and the Transitional Living Program. The agency s Therapeutic Foster Care provides individualized services for children who are removed from their home due to abuse and negligence. It also operates The Mell-Burton School Structured Day Program, which is a day treatment program for middle school students referred by juvenile court. Youth Focus maintains a presence in Greensboro, N.C., and is accredited by the Council on Accreditation.
