I had a coupon for a very low price for my 4 kids and me to get a cleaning and exam. We all went in and as I was getting my teeth taken care of the staff and dentist were telling me what each of my kids needed done. I was amazed. They had cavities (about 14 for the kids), needed sealants, and needed teeth pulled (a total of about 8 for the kids). I was amazed! My kids had always had good visits at the dentist and went to the dentist regularly. I felt pressured by them to get some of the work done that day. I really was skeptical and thought that it was a lot. One of my children was complaining of some pain before going, but I decided to get a second opinion. Young dentist wanted to do a baby root canal of that baby tooth and put a crown on it! So I went back to another dentist for kids. He said he would just pull the tooth since it was a baby tooth. Made sense to me! And saved us money since Young wanted to do the baby root canal and a crown. \r
Took the kids to the dentist 6 months later to the dentist(not Young) for their check up and none had cavities and one does need a tooth pulled. If I was to get all the work Young suggested it would have cost me over $2000. I would definitely get a second opinion on the work they suggest. I just don't understand how they can find cavities that another dentist didn't. \r
As parents you want to take care of your kids teeth, but I am glad we got a second opinion and found out that the work Young suggested was not necessary. If you are looking for a dentist for kids I suggest Ryan Johansen in West Jordan.
