Schafersman organized the firm of Richards, Yost and Schafersman in 1947. Larry Yost joined his father, at the law firm in 1958. This began a transition of the firm that would distinguish it as one of the best in the region, known for its depth of expertise in litigation, aggressiveness in the courtroom as well as breadth of abilities in the areas of business legal matters, estate planning and family law. Nick Lamme joined the firm in 1969, Bob Hillis in 1975, Dave Mitchell in 1985, and Tim Schulz in 1996. Charlie Yost began the tradition with his service on the Nebraska Bar Association House of Delegates in the 1960's. Larry followed in his footsteps in 1980 by becoming the first Nebraska attorney to be certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. In 1994, Yost was elected President of the Nebraska State Bar Association, after serving on the House of Delegates from 1977 through 1984 and the Executive Council from 1985 through 1991. Bob Hillis has been extremely active in the Nebraska Bar Association, serving as a member and chairman of the Nebraska Bar Association House of Delegates and committees on The Unauthorized Practice of Law, Continuing Legal Education and Judicial Resources. Mitchell served as chairman of the Fremont Chamber of Commerce in 2002. Tim Schultz has served as the President of the Dodge County Bar Association. Schulz also served as President of the Fremont Kiwanis. Club from 2002-2003. David Hartmann joined the firm in 2008.All members of the firm have been leaders in the community serving on boards and as officers with the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, Greater Fremont Development Council, Fremont Area Community Foundation, United Way, Low Income Ministry, YMCA, Domestic Abuse Crisis Center, Care Corps Homeless Shelter; as well as many religious and civic groups. Each of the attorney's are a part of the community in which they live.
