The office staff is horrible. The office manager is ignorant and unprofessional. They don't value their patients they have and once you have an emergency it is impossible to make an appointment and their response to you will be "if you don't like it go somewhere else". I guess they don't realize word of mouth is the best advertising. Please don't give them your business not going to be worth the aggravation. more

Don't go here 11/20/2010

I am pregnant and needed a cleaning. My gums are bleeding due to the pregnancy. I couldn't get an apointment with my regular dentist since there was a wait so I decied to try here. I called and explained that I just wanted a cleaning and no X rays. I was a assured that this was fine. I just need a form from my doctor stating that I was pregnant which I brought. I drove an hour today and waited a while. When I was finally taken in, the dentist says that he can't do a cleaning without X rays because it is a liability. I told him that I just had X rays done a year ago. I ask if they can be faxed over. I aslo tell him that I don't even need him to check my teeth. I just want them cleaned. None of this worked. I also explained to the dentist that I was assured that I could just get a cleaning by a receptionist. He said that they really don't know anything. I understand his insistance on X rays if that is their policy and it is made known, but I was clearly told from his staff that I didn't need them and I could just have a cleaning. I drove and hour there and an hour back and wasted 3 hours overall between driving and waiting. I was visibly upset while talking to the dentist and I left angry and in tears. Don't go here if you want to be treated well. more

Don't Go There So Fast 10/11/2006

I have been using this dental group off and on for a few years. Usually when I have an emergency I get fit in with no problem. They have good hours and days and there certainly is enough dentists there to take care of you. I find if it's not an emergency it takes months to get an appointment. This time I had an emergency. I called, they were open, but they told me they were too full with emergencies, (this was a Saturday morning), and I should come back on Monday. No questions of what was bothering me, what kind of pain it was, did I need any medications to ease the pain, if my mouth was swollen, etc. Just they were too busy and come back Monday. The pain grew progressively worse as the day wore on. I ended up calling their emergency number. The dentist who responded was not even a member of their group and didn't know me. He was nice. He asked me all the right questions but was hesitant to prescribe pain medicine because he didn't know me. He told me to take Motrin and keep my appointment on Monday. Still the pain was getting worse. I called him back and a friend who was in the medical field convinced him I needed pain medicine. So he obliged. Still the pain kept getting worse. It was now Sunday and I was in horrendous pain, I was cold and my friend thought I was about to go into shock. I took more Motrin with the pain medicine and held out till Monday. The dentist in the group was a wonderful woman who did an excellent job. She had to do an emergency temporary root canal on me and told the office people to get me to a root canal specialist ASAP--even that same day. They didn't. They made me an appointment for a week and a half later. They didn't even try another dentist to get me an earlier appointment. In the meantime I'm still in pain, I cannot chew, etc. I finally called another dentist who could see me sooner. The problem with Yorktown Dental, (who will probably never give me another appointment for as long as I live now and there's not another conveniently located dentist on my Insurance plan), is the office staff. more

Even my children love going to the dentist now! 8/25/2005

I have only been going to Yorktown Dental for a year, but have only had the best experiences. I first went when I was having a horrible toothache and they were able to fit me in fairly quickly. Once there, the dentist and the hygenist took great care of me. Unfortunately I needed to have a root canal and then get a crown and believe it or not, it didn't hurt at all. He did an incredible job. Also my young children started going to Yorktown Dental and before they were scared to death of going to the dentist, now they love it and want to go back all the time! more
