While this is not your traditional meditative yoga class this is definitely my yoga of choice. You get the flexibility and balance training benefits of the more traditional yoga along with an intense cardiovascular and strength training workout. The kind of yoga offered here is Bikram yoga or 'hot yoga'. The class is 90 minutes long. It is a series of 26 poses, each done 2x in a room that is kept at 105 degrees. Yes, that's right 105 degrees! The high temperatures keeps your muscles loose and flexible and also encourages your body to sweat out toxins. You MUST drink plenty of water before, during, and after class to stay hydrated. This class is a challenge for beginners as well as those more experienced in yoga. There is always the opportunity to push yourself even further. The owner is Mary, who also owns a location in Woodbury. Count yourself very lucky if you get to take a class she teaches because she is amazing. She gives you a great workout and makes the class so enjoyable. Mary definitely makes the experience less intimidating and makes you want to come back for more. The other instructors are great too, but nobody compares to Mary! If I could, I would take every class with her. The experience may sound scary, but after trying it a couple of times you will be hooked! Oh yeah, the changes you will see in the way your body looks and more importantly feels, will also keep you coming back for more.
Pros: clean studio, great instructors, phenomenal workout
Cons: a little pricey
