Worst place for Private Swim Lessons 6/29/2011

Don?t waste your time signing up for Private Swim lessons at the Y. I have been to 3 locations so far..Lake Houston, Wendell D Ley and Harriet and Foster. The first one made me pay in advance then told me they could not find an instructor that can teach in the afternoon. They are only available during the day between group lessons. I work during the day, so I cannot take my child there before 4 pm. They do not give refunds either, so I had to use the funds for another type of class, The Director of the second location is very tardy returning phone calls. I was willing to pay for several weeks at a time, but he said he did not know if he would have any instructors available once the group sessions start. He could only accommodate 2 weeks then never returned my calls to schedule future lessons. The third location gave us a start date and when we showed up, the instructor was out of town and not even aware we were coming that week. My child was so disappointed by that experience that she cried for a long time that day. After many phone calls and messages we started a few weeks later and after the first 2 lessons the instructor went on vacation with no arrangements for anyone to continue our classes in her absence. The director at the third location is very slow to return calls if ever. My best advice is to look elsewhere if you are really interested in learning to swim privately more

Parenting classes teach and help, not criticize! 6/21/2005

On having our daughter removed from our home we were referred to Success by Six by our CPS social worker Theresa Isadore. The people at Success by Six are absolutely the best teachers in the world! My husband I not only learned stress and anger management, but we also learned about being purpose driven and about nutrition not just for kids but for the whole family. In fact the purpose driven class helped me to discover my purpose in life and that is to be the best I can be to not only my family, but in everything I do! The thing I like most about the class is that we can return at any time we need reinforcements. Pros: Caring Staff, Inexpensive (Free), Follow up as needed Cons: some disruptions, few clients needy, anger was big poblem more
