The YMCAs in the Albuquerque/Santa Fe/Rio Rancho area offer very little compared to YMCAs in any other part of the country. You would expect that in a place with so much space and cheap real estate that you would find large YMCAs with all the amenities. Not so, apparently. There is only one YMCA with a basketball court, and it has one, tiny basketball court that is usually being used for some other activity. There is one YMCA with a pool but it is a very small, three-lane pool. The fitness centers are nice and there's child care, but only during certain odd hours of the day. Forget tennis courts. Forget racquetball. For your money, you're much better off joining a gym or using a community center.
