Editorial review from Citysearch 11/14/2012

My name is Kory Allen, I have been suspended from the Mt. Juliet Y for reasons unknown. Last month Anna Lee brought me a card and said I won a $100 gift card to Goodyear, when I went to use the card I found out it wasn't a gift card but a coupon if I spent money, which Goodyear would not stand behind. When I realized the coupon was worthless to me, I gave it back to the YMCA to give to someone who may be able to use it. Anna Lee apologized for misrepresenting what the card was, at the same time in a roundabout way she basically said I was ungrateful for bringing the card back. Meanwhile I went on with my workout, I asked my workout partner what he got out of that conversation he said basically what he got out of it was that she basically called me an ungrateful piece of crap. So on my way out I stopped by Anna Lee office and asked her point blank if she was calling me ungrateful or if that's what she meant. She stood up and yelled at me ""That's Exactly what I said and Meant"" and to ""Get the Hell out of her office!"" At that point she told me what she felt of me so I told her what I felt about her, and said you can talk to your employees like that but I pay to work out here so you can't talk to me like that. Then I was told to get the hell out of the Y. As Anna Lee has a power trip she suspended me from the YMCA but nobody knows the exact reason why and no one will tell me why. I haven't been able to workout since Thursday because I am suspended but they still debited my account. If I'm suspended I should get a refund. She voiced her opinion and I voiced mine but she doesn't have to answer for herself, I called her boss Rob Gray on Thursday, on Friday at 8 A.M. they said he would be in a meeting until noon and then he would call me back. After 12 I called every hour until the business office was closed. Rob Gray never called me back but he did talk to Anna Lee and Marsha to discuss this but sent me a text Sunday evening that he would talk to me Mon or Tues. Why couldn't he just call me instead of sending a text? Now I tried to talk to CEO Journey Johnson so far I've still had no response, during this whole mess I also found out that us members are not people we are units. If this was a personable place they would treat me like a person and call me. Anna Lee is not a personable person, her staff walks on egg shells while she is there, they agree that she has no reason to suspend me but they are afraid to speak up because they don't want to be the next person to lose their job. I don't mind leaving the Y, I would rather workout somewhere where I'm a person not a unit and I'm treated like a person and I know the people who workout with me would agree with me. Worst experience I have ever had from a business manager. If anyone would like to discuss this situation with me I would be happy to. No one will return my call or contact me because they hope this will just go away. Last time I checked I go to a gym to workout not shop for tires. My number is 969-5341. more

Great Facility 2/29/2012

The hours are now: Facility Hours M-Th 5:30 a.m.-9 p.m. F 5:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Sa 7 a.m.-2 pm Su Closed I'd like to see them open on Sunday and a little later on Sat , but these hours seem reasonable to me. The equipment is in good condition, there is plenty of parking and the staff is competent and helpful. I haven't had problems with hot water. The locker room is adequate for the amount use it gets - I've never felt cramped. Overall I'm well satisfied. more

Lots of promise, but poorly executed 4/3/2007

Although this gym has advertised since day one that they were ""Open 24 Hours"" that isn't the case. They opened at 4:30 am on Mondays and were open continously until around 9 pm on Friday, reopen from 8 am to around 8 pm on Saturday, then open from 1-6 on Sundays. As of March 1, 2007, these hours changed with the gym closing at 8 pm on weekdays, however, the only notification members got was a small sign on the wall near the Coke machine. Also, there was no offer to discount member's rates now that they were not going to be ""open 24 hours."" The last few times I went, there was no hot water for the showers. Locker room is small with limited lockers and facilities. \r \r It's a shame becuase the equipment was all new and the gym kept clean. This could have been a really good gym. Pros: Plenty of parking, new equipment Cons: Owners may have gotten over their heads a bit more
