Yesteryear Village is within the South Florida Fairgrounds, so whenever there is an event happening there, we pretty much get to visit the Village. The last time we were there, the kids got to play with handmade galluping horse toys and hay. There's also good photo ops. Take black and white film to makeit more authentic. more

This is a great place to learn a little bit about history and the way things were back in the day. They have old fashioned games like sock puppet stick horses that are hand made. They also have a store where you can purchase food and toys-- some old fashioned, home-made stuff... some modern. I don't know if they always have this, but when we went they had pony rides. We went during a special event and we didn't have to pay extra for this. more

Cute to walk around 8/14/2005

I can't remember what it costs to get in, but most times the Village is open when the fairgrounds hosts events like at Easter....then admission price to the Village is included with the event. I was there once and they had a wild pig (from WELLINGTON!) roasting over a fire. He even let me and my sister try some. The kids had fun climbing the old fire trucks and playing with the water pump. That day they even had pony rides (free!). This place is worth going to if you're going to be there anyway, like in the case at Easter. That's when they have extra stuff for the kids to do from the era like home made bubble wands and home made sock horses on a stick (with hay to go with!). more
