As one of the Board of Directors for the Hamlin Park homeowners association in Mt. Pleasant, it was my responsibility to deal with our many contractors that provided services to our community. We inherited Yard Art from the developer and the property management company in place when we took over control of the HOA. Yard Art proved that their loyalty was to the property management company who hired them and had no loyalty to our HOA that paid for their services. Their landscaping services are considerably higher cost then other companies in the same area. In fact, Yard Art wanted to charge us $27,000 more for the same services that a competitor is charging. Yard Art also would not honor their written warranties on trees and perrenial shrubs that they planted in our community. Many of the trees and perrenials Yard Art planted died due to their negligence, and despite their contract with us stipulating a one-year guarantee, Yard Art would not honor that guarantee and replace the dead plants unless we renewed their contract.\r
We filed formal complaints against Yard Art with the the SC Consumer Affairs office in an attempt to get Yard Art to honor their warranties, but they refused. Yard Art is a disreputable company and we do not recommend them.
