Now i have been here mabye 60 times over the past few years. All big games for every sport. One thing that hasefinitely stayed the same, is the lack of service. These girls, who h...

Had a good time 5/27/2011

I had a good time for the Lakers/Nuggets game. Good bar fare, and SHOCKER, pricey drinks. Hey, at least they were strong. Tis good! more

I really enjoy hanging out here! 5/26/2011

I really enjoy hanging out here. There are tons of things to do. I go for the pool and the big sports games. The food and drinks are good. Not too fancy. Not too grimey. Fun, fun! more

this place rox 5/24/2011

This place rox! The jukebox I want to stab, but overall I had a pretty good time. Decent food and strong drinks at moderate prices. Not bad, not bad at all! more

Always fun 5/23/2011

Always a fun location to take in a UCLA game... just make sure you get there early if you want to sit down! more

This place is fun 5/20/2011

This place was fun during the Olympics! Rhythmic Gymnastics, Hot Wings and Beer - the holy trinity! Service was passable, prices were none too bad. I would go again. more

I would come back 5/20/2011

They've got this good omelet w/ feta, that went down nicely with a beer. And yes, I am a lush. Overall, I had fun watching Tom Brady get injured while getting plastered at a questionable time of day. I would come back. more

I love going to this place 5/19/2011

I love going to this place to watch boxing fights. I remember the first time I went to this place was with a friend to watch Manny P. fight Marquez and I was impressed by the fact that the place not only provided with a several big screens to watch the fight, there was also no altercations with the fans in the room. I think this was partly because there were armed security guards at every entrance. This place is real cool to watch sporting events at. more

The best pizza in L.A. 5/18/2011

This place seriously has the best pizza in L.A. I went with a bunch of girlfriends last night and we were seated right away. Although our waitress was a bit airheaded and forgot about us, she was sweet and polite. more

tasted soo good 5/10/2011

came here to watch the 2nd half of a playoffs game, but just shared dessert. They had like 4 Huge screen were they were playing the game. we just walked in and found seats and were just watching the game...we didnt even order our food til it was over. The Yankee Churros filled churros topped with vanilla bean ice cream and fluffy whipped cream. The churros themselves were smaller than i thought, but that ice cream tasted soo good, it was that vanilla bean! more

I will be back!!! 5/9/2011

I had come here many years before, but then came again yesterday (May 7th, 2011.) My boyfriend and I went for lunch and the outside seating was what we wanted. I got our name in for an outside table. They quoted me about 10 minutes. We had plenty to look at to distract us but I ran in to use the restroom and in that time apparently they called our name but someone else came to take our table. Bad karma and let me just ask, wasn't there a movie about why you shouldn't take someone else's table (Date Night?)??? Anyways, we sat and took about 15 minutes to figure out what we wanted, mainly because the conversation was so good. The server was very patient with us and sweet. We finally ordered and I got the Broadway Burger and my guy got the Texas Burger. I LOVED mine, and he seemed happy too. Waited a bit for some iced tea but like I said, good conversation made the time seem insignificant. We were able to get in and out in a timely manner, the server was polite, the food was good and the overall atmosphere of sitting outside along the Promenade was rad. I will be back! more

Such a fun place! 5/5/2011

This is such a fun place! Played some pool did some people watching. Although I am not a drinker, this place was a fun time and the crowd was lively. more

Pretty cool 5/3/2011

This place is pretty cool. The place itself is awesome, the interior is chill and it leads to great nights of pool playing. The price is decent. The thing that really drops it down is that it's at the Promenade. Parking costs money after 6 and can suck. A lot of tourists are there, which can get really annoying. But the staff is friendly, so that's good. more

Pretty cheap and always a good time! 4/29/2011

I'm not really sure why YD got such bad reviews - I've always had a great time here! This place is a bar/pool hall type place, so don't expect too much from the food here! I've ordered many of their finger foods and they've been just fine! I mainly come here for Happy Hour, to watch games, or to play games with friends. There's so much to do here! I like to hang out downstairs where there are about 8 pool tables, 2 dart boards (bring/purchase your own darts), a foosball table, a basketball arcade game, and some other random arcade games. At night, they also play music and you can dance around. There's also a TV next to every pool table, so pretty much any game that is airing will be playing here. I've also seen a private room at one end - I assume parties can book it (pool table, nicer larger TVs, and bar stools/tables). They have a wide selection of beer and lots of interesting shooters. YD is pretty cheap and always a good time! more

Fun Times in Santa Monica. 4/25/2011

My friend and I were having a wonderful morning at 3rd Street Promenade and with the help of the City of Santa Monica Ambassador, Luis, we were directed to Yankee Doodles. Time to have a little fun and forget somethings before the work week starts. Yankee Doodles is located on the south end close to the Santa Monica Mall. We came about 10 minutes before 11am and they had not open yet. So we bought some time walking around and came back...lol. I guess we were that eager to get in. We seated ourselves at the bar with our wonderful hostess Tania. I won't go into details what was ordered, but what would you do at the bar?! I don't know how much time we spent in there, but it was enough to forget. I remember getting Spanish Artichoke Dip and it was good. The chips were pretty big. I had to keep breaking it part to smaller pieces...Yes, portion control in some sense. I have no idea what my friend had, but I know I got a piece of it. This place has at least six billiard tables, a whole lot of flatscreen TVs, and plenty of seating. Since we were there the whole time, I was wondering where the crowd was. They were sitting outside...lol. I guess I was really out of it. The bathrooms are in the back, but for some reason, it seemed like it was a long walk to get there. Looks like I have lost my detailed writing skills. However, there are just somethings I shouldn't even mention. I had a good time at Yankee Doodles or did I? I don't even remember what happened anymore. Fun Times in Santa Monica. more

They offer ginormous beers so I am happy with this place 4/22/2011

The food here is typical bar food. Nothing special but they offer ginormous beers so I am happy with this place. I also met a hot Cougar and noticed that this place seems to have Cougar bar potential. They also offer Pyramid Hefeweizen on tap so I will return next time I am back. more

I extra-happily enjoy appetizers 4/15/2011

I love this sports bar even though I have ZILCH interest in sports. I've sat at the bar, which is spacious yet cozy, on each visit. I've visited with a girlfriend, a small coed group, and a different bf on two different visits. Each time, I happily killed a couple of hours to stop in and hang out with a couple of beers. I extra-happily enjoy appetizers at the bar if I happen to come in during happy hour. This is also a nice reward for those kind boyfriends/guy friends who accompany their female counterparts to third street. more

It was like we had the place to ourselves. 4/14/2011

I seem to have had a completely different experience than the majority of the reviewers on here. My boyfriend & I loved it there. Our waiter, Danny, was awesome. He said he had only been working there a couple of weeks, so maybe he wasn't jaded yet. From "people watching," we could see that we lucked out by getting him as a waiter. We took his advice on what to order and he didn't steer us wrong. What we got: Him: Calamari & Shrimp Po-boy Me: Spinach Artichoke Dip & Shrimp Arrabbiata Shared: Caesar Salad & Rack of Ribs (Yeah, we were hungry after a full day of walking around!) I didn't like the Caesar salad (too dry), and neither of us liked the coleslaw that came with the ribs. Everything else we raved about. When we come back, I would definitely reorder the Shrimp Arrabbiata or the Ribs. Try the Apple Pie shooter... I've never had a shot like it before. After eating, we went downstairs to play pool. I don't think people know about the bottom level b/c it was deserted. It was like we had the place to ourselves. more

Love it! 4/12/2011

Been coming here for years, I love it.. They take care of the regulars. I always ask for jeff or martins section if they are there. They treat me like a real person rather than just a customer. Other places servers are like robots, memorizing their introductions and specials. Not these guy. They know wut u want before u tell them. This place is def the coolest spot on the promenade and reccomend it to all my friends. Esp for fights and games more

Downstairs is GREAT if you want to watch the game 4/8/2011

I've been here a few times and everytime, the experience is always the same... consistently yummy food, at decent prices, in an enterntaining environment. Fancy girly drinks are about $8-12 so a little pricey but pretty good (I've had stronger for the same price). The atmosphere is sportsbar but the upstairs has a more lowkey restaurant setting so you don't get stuck sitting next to a bunch of drunk guys jumping around and knocking their elbow into your food and they cheer on their favoritie team. BUT... downstairs is GREAT if you want to watch the game, aka. Lakers Playoff game. The have plenty of seating and about five big screen tvs with several other smaller tvs and they play the games with sound. NICE! Even though its downstairs, they still serve a full menu and there are a few servers there to take care of you. If you're coming to watch the game, its worth it to get there early... when the pregame show is still on to get the best seats. They cover the pool tables with plastic so that they can be used as additional seating. After the game, the DJ came on and some people (including myself) playing a few games in the little arcade that they have. more
