In July of 2013, while performing my hysterectomy, Dr. Ceeccy Yang cut my ureter, leading to 5 additional surgeries. After her error was confirmed through exploratory surgery performed by a specialist (from whom she had refused a consultation on my case for days despite my pleading), she admitted her error, apologized repeatedly, and said that she would help pay my medical expenses. After I was out of imminent danger, I sent Dr. Yang multiple letters asking her to honor her word and pay a portion of my medical expenses directly resulting from her error. She ignored them and did nothing to help me. Mistakes happen; it’s how we respond to them that defines us. Dr. Ceeccy Yang made a mistake that cost me thousands of dollars and nearly cost me my life; I will not be cleared by my reconstructive surgeon for at lest another 10 months (more than 2 years after the injury), and even then her mistake will have lasting impact on my body. Dr. Yang failed me, went back on her word, lied to the hospital when the incident was (superficially) investigated, and suffered no consequences. I would not recommend her to anyone.
