I don't recommend this practice for services. Dr. Yamaki and her nurse practioner gave me very bad advice regarding my hormone treatment. They also did not do the tests necessary to make sure the dosage was correct. When I had side effects, the nurse kept pushing an antidepressant to cover up the symptoms instead of addressing the problem. more

The best doctor I ever had 9/8/2010

In July I walked in Dr. Yamaki office and didn't really what to expect. I previous had the worst experience with an doctor that have suppose to remove one of my tubes and drained the other. During the surgery I awaken, which was the most frighten thing I ever experience. So every since that happen I'm afraid of surgery. Well after speaking with Dr. Yamaki I mentioned that to her and after she told me that I had to have an hysterectomy. Dr. Yamaki comfort me with great words and have much respect of my feelings and what ever my concerns was. Dr. Yamaki assured that my surgery will be success and I can assure anyone who see her, can count on her services and very sensitive, caring, nonjudgmental, understanding and reassurance of her ability to take care of you. She has a great staff an wonderful husband who love to help her out when she needed him. And I personally would like to thank you tremendously with the bottom of heart. On August 19th, 2010 Dr. Yamaki assured my concerns about my anxiety what attended to and she done an very great job with my surgery. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. more

Dr Yamaki's staff needs to focus on service 6/14/2010

I had an appointment today 6/14/2010.. I have been with this DR for years and I will not be changing any time soon.. the office is a fantastic group to deal with. However, they are currently changing to paperless and there are some things that could use improvement. The receptionist was pretty distracted by the paperwork that she needed to complete. This is a great doctor,and I have never had a complaint until now. Because I am old, and now have multiple health problems(not GYN related), Dr. Yamaki refuses to be my doctor. This is after being her patient for approximatly 17 years.She has also performed several surgeries on me, plus other family members. Since when is illness a reason to reject a former patient? DR YAMAKI HAS BEEN MY OB/GYN FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS. ALL OF MY FRIENDS GOTO HER. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH HOW MUCH I LOVE HER AND HER ENTIRE STAFF! THEY ARE ALL SO VERY PERSONABLE AND MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU HAVE BEEN THEIR FRIEND FOREVER. JUST HAD ANOTHER SURGERY TODAY BY DR. YAMAKI AND WWENT VERY VERY SMOOTH.... Exellent Physician 7/30/2009

I have been seeing Dr. Yamaki for several years. She is an excellent Physician and Surgeon. She is easy to talk to and very personable. My initial experience with her was many years ago and she diagnosed a medical problem that I had for years but no other physician has been able to diagnose. This improved the quality of my life greatly. more

Curious...and confused 1/16/2009

I am curious why this office does not accept cash patients. I realize that it's always better to have insurance, but if they are receiving the cash in advance I would think the worry that someone won't pay would dissolve. (If, of course that is the reason.) I cannot afford insurance, it is not provided through my work, and I also do not qualify for help through DSHS; leaving me responsible to pay for my own visits etc. It's hard to take care of your health (especially being a woman) when an office does not accept cash. It costs much more (extra facility fees etc.) to go to an office that uses another facility for procedures that this provider can do "in-office" so it is frustrating that they do not accept cash patients. I am most curious as to why....what is the difference? You can't get my health history from my insurance provider, so what does it matter how I pay as long as it's paid in full up front? Finally a Doctor that listens 9/21/2008

I have been a patient of Dr. Yamaki for over 10 years. I have looked for a Doctor that would understand and listen. Finally, Dr. Yamaki was the one. My sister went to her and I followed. She was able to find the cause of my discomfort and continue to help me healthy. She has taken time to call me personally and ask how I am doing and also call and find out how my sister is doing with her cancer. She is very personable and compassionate. Not good 6/12/2008

It is very hard to find a doctor that you like and trust. I am writing this review to help woman cross one doctor off their list in her search for that special physician. The entire visit was uncomfortable. I should have turned around and walked out the door as soon as I saw the unhappiness on her staff's face. Clearly negativity goes downhill and that hill is Dr. Yamaki. While I was waiting in the room, I overheard the doctor barking at her staff and using profanity at the same time. Unfortunately, my level of uncomfort greatly increased when she entered my room. Dr. Yamaki's shifty, brisk and hyper demeanor made me even more nervous than my impending pap smear! In my opinion, I found it very peculiar that she was unclear of my exam and seemed to be "pushing" additional tests on me which made me feel as if it was to benefit her wallet rather than my health. That opinion was only further confirmed when she began discussing (read: "selling") me on getting botox and/or restylane at her practice. I have lost all faith in her and will NEVER return. Most Compassionate 8/20/2007

I have been a patient of Dr. Yamaki's since 1989 and she has been wonderful. She has delivered 2 of my children and performed my hysterectomy. Dr. Yamaki & her staff have helped me through thick and thin and through it all she never missed a beat. She went out of her way by personally calling my insurance company to get them to approved the hysterectomy when they first refused. I would reccomend her to anyone. When my sister lived in town she went to her as well as my mother and both of them wished she was located closer to where they live now. Her comassion is amazing as well as her expertise in her field. Pros: STAFF! more

I had hysterectomy performed by Dr Yamaki who was recommended by another patient of hers. I would recommend Dr Yamaki to anyone. She is very personable, professional and competent and I had immediately great confidence in her ability. The surgery went very well and I healed quickly. Pros: very possitive experience more
