Xtreme Family Fitness

My review is for the gymnastics side. My daughter joined xtreme gymnastics almost a year ago. I have always felt that they weren't very friendly or inviting. One particular occasion they had a ""parent"" meeting, when my husband arrived there was not a ""parent"" meeting to be found, so he sat on the bleachers for about 10/15min and no one came to get him...so he left. To make a long story short I was told that it was his fault that he didn't ask someone (he didn't know anyone, our daughter had just started there) where the parent meeting was and he should have been more intelligent not to just sit there knowing that a parent meeting was taken place somewhere in the facility. So I guess at this parent meeting the parents were told they had to volunteer (which meant bring food and help set up the gym for competition) and that it was mandatory (how can a volunteer become mandatory is still unknown to me). I told the manager that due to there lack of organization and lack of communication that I was not going to volunteer my services and spend more money on the gym. I was then told that if I didn't volunteer that my daughter would not be able to compete and if I did show up that I would be escorted out. I have paid her monthly tuition fees and coaching fees. I also asked for the document that I signed that stated that volunteering was mandatory and she stated that she was not going to present any document because she did not have to. I would not recommend anyone to put their child in gymnastics at this facility. There are way better facilities in Lees Summit. more

I'm not even a member of Xtreme Fitness - but somehow they have my bank information and have been taking monthly dues out of my account. The only thing I could think of is that they got my bank info from Summit Fitness when they closed their doors back in April. I stopped by Xtreme and my suspicions were confirmed - the manager told me that my contract was transferred from Summit Fitness to Xtreme Family Fitness. I said "you transferred my contract to your facility without telling me?" Her response was "we tried to get in contact with you". She didn't try very hard because she had my home phnone number and my home address. I never received a phone call or a notice by mail. So for 5 months I have been paying for a gym membership I didn't even know I had. I immediately cancelled the membership and asked for a refund of all the money they took out of my account. The managers response was "I'm sorry, I can't help you". I am currently pursuing legal action against J Financial Group, LLC - w more

I agree with the other negative review of this place. It is always above 80 in there, it smells like sweaty socks in there, and there is never any parking and you ALWAYS have to wait on equipment. There are many better alternatives in Lee's Summit more

If you are looking for a gym in Lee's Summit .... DO NOT sign up for Xtreme Fitness if you enjoy a humidity free, cooler gym, where you have room to complete your workout without bumping into someone, and where the majority of the machines are updated or at least in good working order. It has been above 80 degrees in the gym for over 3 weeks now with not end in sight. Oh sure they will talk about ...an end but nothing is getting done about it. There are 3-4 fans around but getting one is difficult and it may or may not work. I have asked for them to end my contract since Xtreme Fitness cannot seem to fulfill my original service expectations but they have told me that is impossible. So now I have to pay for a membership that I can't seem to use!!! Way to use your customer service skills Xtreme!!! I would NEVER recommend this gym!!! more

Joined Xtreme Family Fitness in Lee's Summit, they have great rates AND you don't have to pay extra for Group Classes. Love the TRX and Power Pumped Classes. more

I just love this gym! I can take a fitness class while my daughter takes a gymnastics class; great for fast paced families! The staff is very nice and knowledgeable about fitness. more

I have been working out at Gold's Gym Lee's Summit for over a year. I started taking the Total Resistance classes and love it! It's a fun class and I see results! I would recommend Gold's Gym to anyone looking for a gym in Lee's Summit. more

My daughter enjoyed gymnastics classes at X-treme for over 2 years. As our schedule changed, the gym was able to find alternative classes that would work. On the recreational side, instructors were generally positive and kid friendly. Instructors did tend to come and go and depending on your child's personality that could be unsettling to him or her. X-treme fridays are a good and active alternative to a baby sitter. Children are well supervised. more

They have the best facilities in the Lees Summit area for family exercising. From the swimming pool to the classes, I couldn't ask for a better set up facility that would cater to all types of exercise. It is important to spend time with your family. Why not spend it having fun exercising in stead of a movie at home, or a board game? Plus, the membership prices are very resonable for a family, and remember it is something that will last forever. Not just a memory of a Cinema show that costs just about as much for the whole family! Great choice! Great location and staff:) more
