Xcel Enegy Center 11/20/2006

Saint Paul's large arena is called the Xcel Energy Center. This arena is hands down better than the neigboring Target Center or Metrodome in Minneapolis. Much newer, the Xcel is a nice venue. It features large screens in the arena, so no seat is really a bad seat. It has nicely decorated lobbies with a "up north lodgy" type of feel. The Xcel also has terrific concessions, including all the regular hot dogs, nachos, beer, but also fancier wrap sandwiches, icecream, turkey sandwiches, and pizza. I have also been in the suites at the Xcel, and they are by far nicer than their competitors as well. (For instance, they have bathrooms in suite). Parking at the Xcel can be a bit of a pain compared to the Target Center, but that's about the only negative. Check out their website at www.xcelenergycenter.com more

get Wild! 12/29/2005

Home of the Minnesota Wild and la crosse, soccer, other sporting events, and concerts, the Xcel Energy Center is a state of the art facility nestled in downtown St Paul for practically any large event. The Xcel is also connected to the rest of Saint Paul through the skyway system - you can shop all of St Paul, eat out, and catch a hockey game without even going outside into the cold! more

entertaining 11/21/2005

well a clean friendly family place , i have seen sports , kids shows and music invents there all have . the parking pretty easy but it is a walk all indoors for the Minnesota weather the prices are capable for any event place , easy to get to and find . on really busy days they have cop direct the cars . well planned out and clean and safe . more

Great Place to go see events 11/9/2005

I went to see Disney on Ice here and it was much more intimate venue than the Target Center. It's not very old so it is pretty nice and very comfortable. Because it is smaller than the Target Center the seats are much better for seeing every thing. All in all a good place to go see events. You do have to park across the street. more

Lots of fun 8/21/2005

We have seen multiple Minnesota Wild hockey games at the Xcel Center, and there is not a bad seat in the house. They have a big screen tv that lets you see up close as well. The center itself is only a few years old, and the seats are very comfortable and spacious. Parking can be a little expensive and difficult to find, but it is well worth it. more

Xcel is great 8/21/2005

I have been to the xcel energy center for hockey and a concert. All experiences have been great. The seats are pretty comfortable, the view is great. The food is very good. The sound quality for a concert was good. The hockey was awesome. I would definitely recommend going to the xcel energy center for a hockey game and concerts. more

This is a great building to see performances in. Almost every seat is a good seat. They have huge plasma screens that let you see acts up close, even if you are kind of far back. This place is pretty new, so it is in excellent shape, very clean. The concession stands sell food and souveniors at average prices. There is also lots of parking arpund the building and in parking ramps. more

Best venue for large concerts 8/15/2005

I've seen rock bands in the Target Center and in Xcel Energy Center and let me tell you that the Xcel is much better. I've even seen the same performer perform at both and it was no question that it sounds better at less painful volumes in Xcel. Now parking seems a bit more difficult at Xcel but it is no big deal for both - just expect to walk a 1/2 mile. more
