When I was admitted there, I found out the staff didn't even need a collage degree of any short, all the need was a high school degree. I found out a male staff ways hired even though he, himself was admitted there on the adult unite before becoming a staff member. I noticed that the first thing the diagnosis every one with is depression. Every one was on med's even the younger kids that were 3. The staff members were rude, they would be on their cellphones even during groups were they were supposed to be teaching. The staff members should have a collage degree in social service's. more

My first stay at WBI in Casper was in 2007. At that time I found it to be a very good experience. The doctors, therapists and staff were very caring and genuinely concerned about my welfare and recovery. I recently spent 2 weeks there and I am sorry to say that this time the experience was entirely different. I went there because I wasn't sure if the depression was causing the pain in my body or if the pain was causing the depression. Most of the staff was arrogant and rude to the point of being uncaring. I saw my doctor 3 times and my therapist twice. I was allowed to go outside into the courtyard once but because my coat and shoes were locked up, I could not stay out for more than a few minutes. I had a severe migraine while there that they would not treat. I finally phoned the hospital for an ambulance. Then the finally covered the windows, shut of the lights and gave me an ice pack. They would not allow me to use regular lighting instead of flourescents which triggered many headaches. The timeliness of medication was terrible -- somedays taking 2 to 2.5 hours of standing in line. I also have very painful fibromyalgia for which they would give me nothing for pain. The staff was completely disorganized and spent more time talking with each other than taking care of patients. I would never recommend that anyone go there. I feel worse off now than I did when I was admitted. I was bullied and lied to and there was nothing I could do about it because I had no rights. I was treated like I was making it all up. There were a few compationate people there, but not as many as there were on power trips. They treat everyone as if they are only drug seeking -- they don't listen to you when you explain what is wrong with you and why you are there. They just assume that everyone there is either abusing alcohol or drugs or is on the verge of either killing yourself or someone else. Their care was very negligent -- almost to the point of being cruel and criminal. They need to get a clue and treat the patients with care and understanding and quit treating them like criminals. Our only ""crime"" is having a physical or mental illness that no one seems to understand. more

I used to work as a nurse at WBI. It is a really good facility for those needing help for mental disorders. It is not a ""Celebrity Rehab"" by any means, but they do have a clean facility and a caring staff of doctors, nurses, therapists, and mental health workers. I would not hesitate to admit my own family member there. I really hate to see the negative comments by those who have no clue how the mental health system actually works. The majority of patients can be helped in about a week, some longer, and a rare few can't behelped. If you are dedicated to treatment and to getting well, they can help. more

Poor staff behavior 5/16/2011

WBI Wyoming Behavior Institute staff proved to be overly controling to the point of belittling. As a professional myself, the department working with admissions, Patty and Kristy, I found them to be more about stating their own merrits in their line of work, rather then the actual role of the job. They were very rude and at the point of placement, they refused service. Now, I am looking for another insitution and the part that is so frustrating, they are pleased. I just wonder how someone in the field of helping children, can be so thrilled that they ""SCHOOLED"" the parent. \r \r Just another road bump to cross over. I recommend no other parent take the same path I took with the ""BEHAVIORAL' insitution. more

Worst Institution EVER 8/29/2008

WBI Wyoming Behavioral Institute\r This place is a joke. My husband was admitted there, to get a diagnosis for what was wrong with him. They told him they would hold him for 72 hours. He has now been there for three days and they are not releasing him for another 3 days. This made me really upset that they refused to release him after 3 days. Now because I got upset when I was visiting him for lunch they put a 24 hour hold on me visiting him. They are liars, and rude. I was not in harm of myself or others and they locked me in a room for an hour (as a visitor) They would not let me drive away from their building. I had to call somebody to pick me up, because I gave my husband a hug and a kiss and started crying and told him ""I love you, I just want you back home"". I would not take anybody I know to this messed up instituition. IT IS A BIG JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When the people are admitted, they are stuck in a building all day. They have a fenced in court yard, but patients are not aloud to go in there. People need some fresh air once in a while. Pros: they will give you a diagnosis Cons: THey are liars and rude more
