Please ignore all comments previous to this one. Minato Sushi has been sold and now has a new owner and a new name. It is now called WOW Sushi. Our phone number and address remain unchanged. This restaurant has no association whatsoever with the previous owners and is now a completely different Sushi Restaurant. We have arguably the best prices in the Troy area (or Michigan in general) and offer daily lunch specials until 3:00 pm Mon - Sat. Our business hours are as follows: Pros: Great food at a great price. Cons: No alcohol license (yet) more

Excellent and affordable 7/14/2007

The food was EXCELLENT and affordable. They had many creative rolls. The service was top notch, the staff is friendly and attentive. We ate in and it was totally fine, but it's really more of a take out place. Pros: Sushi is great, very affordable, friendly and attentive service Cons: Ambiance more

Yummy for the value 5/6/2007

Just as good as Noble with more seating. They also have a $1.00 menu where you can try certain types, you just get one piece but it's a great idea if you aren't sure whether or not you'd like it. You get a salad with your meal even if you just get one order. more

Decent sushi but many others are better 6/30/2006

Not quite sure why everyone is raving about this place. The sushi was just ok and the atmosphere was definitely lacking. The place also seemed rather dirty, making me a bit nervous about how sanitary they are with the sushi handling. Sure, it's more affordable than some other sushi places, but I'd much rather pay a bit more and get better quality. Cafe Sushi is excellent (although it's decor is a bit stodgy). Mon Jin Lau also has great sushi. And both Noble Fish and Little Tree are always good. Pros: Affordable Cons: Sushi is just ok, place is dirty more

Very Good 10/13/2005

Nice place, not fancy. Never went for dinner, worked in Troy and always went for lunch. Good rolls for one of the best prices in the Troy area. Recommended. more

This place is great, the owners are attentive and very helpful. There is alot of creative sushi entrees which are excellent, some of my favorites: salmon pizza roll, dragon roll and the minato roll. All excellent. Pros: Great food, Great Service Cons: Location more

Excellent place! 6/22/2002

I just discovered this resturant that is under new management. This is a place has excellent food. The sushi was fresh and they had alot of great rolls( the dragon and minato rolls are excellent). The service was excellent. I am a big fan of Noble Fish and I would say that this place is just as good if not better, only due to the reason that Minato has a few rolls that Noble does not make. I highly recommend this place. Pros: Great Prices, Great Service, Great Sushi more

Affordable & friendly service 5/28/2002

I only started going to Minato a couple of months ago. Their prices are lower than Take Sushi, and they have a whole list of special rolls. They have new owners now and the food is even better. The chef made some special rolls for me to try (for free, can't beat that!). Their ingredients are fresh and they are very friendly. I have been recommending this place to my friends and co-workers who love sushi. I also like the fact that they are open on Saturdays from 11am to evening, so I can stop by on Saturday afternoon for a sushi snack! If you are in the neighborhood, try one of their special rolls -- Sakura Roll uses cucumber instead of rice and seaweed. more
