I only moved out Worthington Ridge apartments after purchasing a house. I am very glad I chose this as a place to live. Moved in Feb 2011, moved out Oct 2011.
It certainly costs more to live there than some other places but you get what you pay for. The complex is kept clean, the driveways are in very good condition and maintained, the buildings are in good condition, and the residents tend to mind their own business.
I did have a neighbor move in below me that played very loud music at all hours off and on. I filed a complaint and the music stopped by the time I got back from a work trip a few days later and never started again. So they are responsive to complaints, although that was my one.
The maintenance is very responsive as well. He always came out within minutes of me letting the office know of an issue. Even for small issues he came right out. Worst wait was the next day because he did not have the parts he needed to replaces a leak in the kitchen faucet. He replaced the whole thing the next morning. They never accused me of causing damage and very few items had any issue.
They do give deals for signing for a year long lease. I had a good deal the first year and the second year the deal was not as good, but it was there. I went month to month since I knew I would moving to a house within that year. The garages are $35 a month extra, $50 if month to month. They do not have electric in them though, and they are not attached. Only down side to them. They did stay dry all year in them and a lot of people use them for storage. The first year I was paying $660 for rent+garage. Month to month was $808 for rent+garage. Must pay by check. No credit card.
The biggest down sides were the windows and the air conditioner. The windows might as well not even be there. They are extremely inefficient. Hanging curtains does help, but they need upgraded badly. They let in all the noise and let out all your heat and air conditioning. The rest of the walls and floor are insulated very well, you will not hear your neighbor, not even their dog! The air conditioner is rather inefficient as well. I am sure they bought about the cheapest they could get. Will cause the electric bill to go up.
It is all electric, and it does come with a washer and drier, a huge plus. My electric bill ranged from $100 to $250 a month. Now the high bill was August and I was working nights so the air conditioner can all day. This past summer max was around $160 because I was working days. Th water/trash/sewer are built into the rent, but cost and additional $20 per month. The heat, air conditioner, and hot water tank are NOT shared. Each unit has all of its own utilities. The water is hot and stays hot for a long time.
The bottom line is that if you can afford to live here you should at least go see the place. The staff was always nice, even when I was leaving or had an issue. It was a clean, safe feeling place to live.
Today I received my full deposit, $300. I left the place in a little cleaner condition than I got it and they did not charge me those phantom charges people talk about. Those who complained are the ones who were kicked out after being disruptive. I thank the staff for keeping these people out.
