Good Store - Horrible Little Manager 2/19/2011

Love the stock, hate the management.... there is a little man with a very strong personality that is NOT a good sales guy. Not friendly whatsoever to customers (he was especially abrupt with my boys), nor is he friendly to what he calls 'his employees'. \r \r Ironically, it was the gal who was kind and helpful. He was .... horrible. And, yes, I keep coming back and buying livestock because I LOVE the store's selection of freshwater fish and sometimes plants. But, nearly each time I remind myself that I should just travel East (from my Western Suburbs) to Wet Spot and avoid the hassel and angst he causes me... and the people around him. more

worth the trip?? 4/30/2009

I drove to SW Portland very excited after reading the reviews to visit this fish store. We drove out there ready to buy at least $300 dollars of equipment. Not only were we not greeted upon entering in the store we wondered around waiting to see if we needed help for about a half hour. No one said or asked us anything the whole time. We left disappointed and sad we were unable to support a newer fish store. We went to the wet spot. Bought what we wanted there. more

Amazing store! 8/6/2008

Ok there is so much to say about the store always clean, huge i meeen huge like 200 aquariums of freshwater fish alone, they have lots of fish like guppies and stuff but they also have oddballs like silver orowanas and freshwater stingrays, they also got a ton of saltwater tanks with live coral invirtebres and fish for sale. but they also have tons of supplies and all the stuff is at great prices. And if you don't find what your looking for asking the manager to oreder you it he will kno whats the best people to order from to make sure you get the most healthy fish. I would recomend them to anyone looking for normal fish or the rare odballs and saltwater and others they got it all tbh it's a great store with great helping staff! Pros: clean tanks a store, good service, and very very big selction on saltwater and freshwater fish Cons: far away from me but worth the drive more

best freshwater fish and plant store in town 1/5/2008

I've been going to this store since shortly after it opened several years ago on a regular basis, having many freshwater aquariums at home. I always find what I need there and if it is not in stock, they will order it for me in a timely manner. The selection of fish, plants and equipment is very good with new arrivals on a weekly basis. Livestock sold are healthy, and in good condition. Personell are always friendly, helpful and my many questions are answered with reliable accurate information. In my opinion, this is the best freshwater fish store in town. Pros: plenty of parking, great selection, service and reasonable prices Cons: can't think of any more

It's worth the trip to SW Portland to check out Eric's shop. He has a very nice selection of fresh Pros: Clean, well staffed, nice selection. Cons: To far from home. more
