WORLD MUSIC REVIEW...read this before going 7/14/2006

I bought a keyboard at World Music in Simi Valley on the 6th of July, 2006 and the sold me a "reconditioned" piece of equipment. I was unaware it was used and when I brought it home I believed the stand was too large for the piece; however, it turned out it was missing a piece of plastic that held the keyboard in place. So, the stand was also a piece of shit. Then, I looked for the electricity unit and it was not in the box. So, I called the store and they said it did not come with the unit. "Why?!" I asked. "Well," they replied, "all of our keyboards have units that are sold separately and the salesman should have told you that." Thus, they said they would sell me the unit for 1/2 the price ($20.00). I proceeded to go online for research: not only did I find EVERY keyboard I would purchase had a unit AND A STAND included, but the keyboards I were looking at online were TWICE the quality of the one I purchased and THE SAME PRICE. Also, when I tried to PLAY THE KEYS THEY WORKED 1/3 OF THE TIME I PUSHED THEM! I proceeded to return the keyboard 3 days later and this is my story: I ran into the store, trying to hurry to my Math final (yes, in the middle of summer I am taking a Math class in college till 10pm at night) and explained this is the reason I did not come the next day and return the keyboard....They plugged in the keyboard, played the keyboard and claimed it was "playing fine now" that "I did not know how to play a keyboard properly" and "I was being a dick." Well, the next thing just tickled my fancy. You see, there is a no return policy at World Music: although your instrument is reconditioned and they don't tell you, is missing a piece of needed equipment, and DOESNT WORK AT HOME...they don't care...you can shove it in your ass and go home. So, I left the broken piece of crap in their store and walked away. So, in the future, if you decide to buy a keyboard from World Music of Simi Valley, you may take it home and play some broken keys and think of me. Much love musicians... more

A great local place to get musical instruments. They also sell sheet music. They have a good selection, and are willing to order what they don't have in stock. They offer lessons on most instruments and can refer you to instructors. Their staff is pretty knowledgeable about most of their equipment. more
