When I moved to town I started asking around in search of an honest and competent mechanic. Woody's Auto Center is the name that I heard most often. I was forewarned that the rates are expensive but the work is first class. I don't mind paying top price for an auto mechanic if they are highly competent, do not try to sell me stuff I don't need, and keep their eyes open for problems that will make themselves known in the not too distant future. (Take care of it while they're in the vicinity so to speak.) The mechanics at Woody's are all these things and more. They don't quote you one price and then charge another. The owner makes it a point to go over the bill with you, explain what was done, and answer any questions you may have. I plan on driving this car for at least another ten years, maybe longer, and with Woody's doing the mechanical work I'm confident I will reach that goal.
