Woodcrest Preschool

Wood crest was Good when they had there old director Beth there then she quit. And Karen took over Director she was great as a 2 yr old teacher. When she moved to director she bit off more than she could chew. My daughter was 2 1/2 and when I walked into get her one day she was in the classroom by her self. The teacher had 20 kids to her self which was over ratio. My daughter was suppose to be potty training and she had a pull up on. I would never send my kids to Wood crest again. more

I am more than pleased with the level of care my children have received at Woodcrest Preschool in Newbury Park. The director is kind and friendly and the teachers are loving and nurturing. My children are learning colors, shapes, numbers, social skills, and much more. My only expectation is that my children are having fun and being well cared for. It is my belief that Woodcrest is doing that well. more

This is the WORST preschool I have unfortunately ever experienced. I would NEVER recommend and actually discourage any parent from sending their children to this AWFUL institution unless things change. I have sent my children to previous preschools where I was very happy with their care. The director does not seem at all interested in talking with the parents regarding their concerns or in the welfare or development of the children there. I happened to notice that there was no staff in the front office everyday that I picked up my child. When asked about this issue, a staff member responded rudely by asking me ""Why do I want to know; that there is nobody in the front office after 2 to 3pm, and that I didn't need them there anyway; that the teachers on the playground out in back could answer any of my questions"". By the way, the director witnessed me asking this question and completely ignored me and did not bother to offer any explanation. My point in asking the question was to point out there there is no one in charge at all times; who would answer the telephone in case of emergencies if all the teachers are outside on the playground, and just the plain old common sense that either the director or assistant director would like to know what's going on at their school at all times if they cared at all what went on. I have to say that some teachers seem to be fine, but overall I would have to say I am not satisfied with the care and attention. This is the worst preshool ever! The principal is extremely rude, and the teachers aren't much better. They don't prepare the kids for kindergarten. Kids don't learn anything!! It is basically playtime with little supervision. We are extremely disappointed in this facility. We have 2 more children that we WON'T be sending there. Cons: NO SUPERVISION AND NO LEARNING more
