Woodbrae Kennels

When i came back from tahiti last year to pick up my crazy active nutty 10 month old golden retriever, I was quite surprised to see that the people working there (all of them) knew my dogs name, knew his dislikes, knew the way he acted when you show him a leash and a collar before a walk, and in general just really kne about as much as i do about my dog! more

Its a kennel in the back of a home at the end of dead end street in los gatos. Obviously family owned but you can tell they care about what they do and who the hire. more

This kennel is great!! We have taken our dogs to several kennels, and we always take them here now. Our dogs get excited when we pull up, and the staff remembers our dogs by name. Great place to go, where you do not worry about your pets when you are gone. more

Very happy with this company: I took my two dogs here for boarding a few years ago and when I picked them up, they were happy and looked well cared for. Recently, I took my poodle mix here for grooming and was VERY happy with their services. Their prices are very reasonable and it doesn't take an act of congress to get an appointment. They did a great job on her haircut, didn't over do it with the doggie cologne and even checked her teeth! She was very happy when I picked up up and they gave me a full account of her day and behavior. I would definitely recommend this company. more

perfect. always difficult to find a sitter for your crazy dogs.Very nice , very easy to deal with , no evaluations , etc etc .they just ask for shot which is cool.I pick them up last night .cleaner than when i brought them.and healthier. I 'll come back for my next vacations more

This is the best kennel there is! They really care about your dog and it's the cleanest kennel I've ever seen. My dog gets excited everytime I pull up to the driveway - they treat him like family :) I've been coming here for a very long time and have never been anything but happy. You won't be sorry! more

Without a doubt, the best kennels in the South Bay Area.A little background... I adopted my dog Georgia from a friend, who had in turn adopted her from another family who got her as a puppy. What they didn't tell my friend was that they hadn't socialized her as a puppy, so she was deathly afraid of other dogs (and cats), and would react extremely unpredictably to any situation involving other pets. Of course, by the time my friend found this out it was too late to go back and make an issue of it with the original owner, and I wanted a dog anyway... so it just kind of worked out. I had just stopped my insane travel schedule and had local friends who could watch her when I was going to be out of town, so I didn't need a kennel or boarding services.With a lot of work, I finally got her to a point where she was okay with other dogs, but I was still extremely uneasy about boarding her while I was out on vacation. And I looked at the VCA facilities, and was unimpressed. I wanted the benefits of having a dog-sitter, without the price tag or the necessity to allow a stranger into my house. A colleague from work (who is super anal about kennels) cued me in to Woodbrae, and I went over for a tour of the place.I fell instantly in love with it - the place is an old Victorian-style house in Los Gatos close to the Good Samaritan hospital off of 85 and Los Gatos Blvd, and the owner is an older lady that has converted the back of the house (and adjoining field) into a kennel. The dogs all have their own runs, which means they interact with each other as little as you want - critical for me in this first boarding period. Also, the kennels are sheltered from the elements, and you can bring in your own comfort items for your pet, so I started to feel pretty safe going with them.As did my dog. By default all dogs get one walk and one playtime per day, but you can request as many as you like for which you get charged at the rate of $2-3 more. I had her down for 3 playtimes and 2 walks. I was horribly embarrassed when i dropped him off because he was just such a basket case. A dog with ADD per se.Upon picking him up they reasuured me they enjoyed his crazy demeanor and that he was a joy to be around. more
