wonderscope was rundown, unkept 8/8/2011

Our trip to the Wonderscope children's museum was extremely disappointing. The exhibits were broken, rundown and in some cases filthy. The person at the front desk was extremely rude ...did not seem to like children at all. Most of the exhibits did not meet our expectations of what were described in the literature and they certainly did not hold our children's attention. We will not return to Wonderscope nor will we recommend it to friends. more

Many activities usually broken 12/28/2005

I would not rate the Wonderscope in Shawnee very high. Many activities are usually broken or not working for one reason or another. They have a golf ball room, a garden room, a hospital room, a space room, and an arts and craft room. If you have a child that is between 1-5 the children may have fun but if a child is any older it is very boring. The only thing my children like are the live hamsters that are at the front desk that they can hold and pet. Adults also have to pay to enter with their child. I feel this facility is very run down and the events/rooms do not ever change. more

hands on learning experience 10/13/2005

This is always a special treat for my kids when we go to wonderscope. It's not just a museum, it's a hands on learning experience for the kids. There is something to see and learn for all age groups. There are several exhibits within the museum that are designed for different age groups. There are areas for roleplaying, where the kids can practice their shopping and banking skills, in the communications exhibit they get to actually broadcast the news and the weather and you can get a tape of your kids! there's an exhibit that teaches about space travel and they have a nature and science lab. For the little ones there's a playroom and there's also a story-telling area and puppet shows. The greatest fun for my daughters is the artroom though. They can paint and glue and create art in every possible way, even paint their faces! This is worth the trip every time! Prices are reasonable, but with a family membership you get free admission for the whole family for 1 year! more
