Editorial review from Citysearch 10/22/2012

Deborah Withers is a true lifesaver. I am a longtime patient of Deb's. My life has been quite traumatic and with Deb's gentle approach, incredible knowledge of the human psyche, compassion and willing spirit, I have survived....actually, I have more than survived; I have flourished and grown. Without her guidance and gentle approach, I would never been as strong as I am today. Deb Withers, thank you! more

A gifted therapist 11/20/2008

Our child began meeting with Deborah to assist with the emotional components of food allergies. Deborah rapidly identified that his 3 near death experiences (two allergic reactions and a bad car accident) had traumatized him. She treated him for PTSD and hyper-vigilance. Pros: talented therapist Cons: far from our home more

A major disappointment 3/14/2007

I saw Ms Withers in individual therapy for some time. I think at first i was taken by her friendly, engaging manner. She seems bright and quite likeable, but after a short while I felt uncomfortable with her repeated self references and stories about her past and current marriages as well as difficulties suffered by one of her children. Boundaries, boundaries, boundaries!.......I didn't need to hear it. When I suggested that I had gotten as much as i could out of therapy with her, she suggested this was an example of my resistance to treatment and recommended therapy be increased to twice a week sessions. Arggghh! Could I have pricked her narcissism by leaving treatment? A year later when I requested a copy of my treatment records to bring to new highly regarded therapist, she refused.....huh? why?? out of spitefulness?? ? Who knows. The state board of licensure was needed to intervene on my behalf and she relented to their authority, releasing my records. A very costly, unpleasant experience. Pros: Pleasant and likeable Cons: Sometimes gets into blaming and advice giving: Is this therapy? more
