I'd become very vet-averse in recent years - my two indoor-only cats were very healthy, and I'd had so many negative vet experiences (at best, getting overcharged by vets with indifferent manners was the norm) that I'd kind of given up on finding a good, regular vet. But we recently adopted a rescue/shelter dog who had a parasitic infection and will be needing vaccinations, so I called around, did research, and liked what I'd heard and read about Dr. Smollin.
My experience was awesome, right from my first contact with them via phone. Friendly, helpful tech at the desk (I neglected to get her name - shame on me) got us an appointment within an hour of calling. When my poor dog was too scared to come in the clinic's front door, this woman stepped away from the desk and helped lure my dog inside with a treat. We were seen immediately, and I was extremely impressed by Dr. Smollin's gentle and caring manner with my dog, who was a bit nervous. Haven't met a vet this nice in decades. You'd think vets who are especially reassuring toward pets would be the norm, but....sadly, no. Dr. Smollin was exceptional.
Plus they offer discounts on vaccinations on certain days, and discounts if you bring in more than one pet for a visit. I'm planning on returning SOON with my two cats and getting them back in loop of regular visits, and I can do it without the cost being prohibitive.
This really helped me overcome MY own wariness toward vets. I have nothing but positive things to say about this clinic and this vet!
Pros: Excellent Service, Affordable Cost
Cons: None that I experienced
