This is the second time I've ever visited this particular Winn Dixie and each time, customer service was below par. This day in particularly, I was purchasing 2 of the Smithfield hams they have on sale. The time was shortly after 8 pm, and I figured the other meat departments for Winn Dixie locations don't close until 9, they would have enough time to cut up the ham before they close. Well, needless to say, I guess I asked the wrong ""meat guy"" for he was the ""seafood guy"" and acted as though, I was a burden to ask him, since he wasn't the meat guy. I figure since he was literally feet away from the meat and was putting away the seafood, that he worked in that department. \r

First off, I wouldn't have never treated a customer they way he did by ""passing the buck"" and acting like an jerk since....we are the ones who help pay his salary by buying their overpriced food.\r

Well, finally talked to the meat handler and he was much more professional and spoke kinder than the older other guy. He explained that he had broken down the slicer and was cleaning up back there. The seafood guy, then chimed in and had to add his 2 cents in say ""They would have to put the machine back together, slice the ham, then breakdown the equipment again"". If I wanted his opinion, I would have asked for it; but since he was just the ""seafood guy"", I don't have anything else to say to him, since he's not the one handling the situation anymore.\r

Well, I finished my shopping, and went to checkout. Thought it may end on a better note....NOPE, wrong. After everything was rung out and I pulled out my debit card, the cashier asked ""Is that an EBT card?"" Ummm....NO!! I have to pay for my products, just like everyone else. That is the first time I've ever been asked that question, as if I look like I can't afford my basket or something. We make over $100K/year and I don't have to go around flaunting anything; but don't make me feel like I can't afford to shop there. Needless to say, I will NEVER set foot into this Winn-Dixie again. I will just stick to Publix from now on.
