So different now 9/7/2006

I barely went to Spectrum before the new construction and store openings. Back in middle school my friends and I would only go to see a movie, and the only stores I shopped at there were Urban Outfitters and Windsor. Now, there are a million store openings. When I visited there a few months ago when they just opened a lot of new store, I--surprisingly--got lost!! The place is HUGE and like everyone said, very CROWDED. I sort of miss the time when it was not as crowded. Now there's a Target, Old Navy, Nordstrom, and many little shops that sell just about the same clothes. The Nordstrom there is very small compared to the one at South Coast, but the Target is pretty big. The only things I'm bother by at Spectrum now are the crowds and that it's just too big now. more

Irvine Spectrum 4/16/2006

Living in Irvine has given me a chance to go to Irvine spectrum a few times. One of the most prominent things that you notice about it is that it is outside. Walking through on a beautiful warm night is really romantic. More importantly, there is a large theater, and many restaurants to have your pick. The lights are always on (it seems), and there are a plethora of stores, including barnes and noble. However, the only reason I would go here is the theater, because it is a little overpriced. more

this place is always under construction, and not just in the litteral sense. When it first opened up there was just a movie theater (the biggest OC had ever seen) and a food court with some small kiosks outside. Now it has practically trippled in size and has gone through a few makeovers. For a while it was a really cool night spot with a bunch of different bars and shops open late, but now it has become more of simply just a mall. When they closed the Crazy Horse, this place went downhill. The Nordstrom addition has just added to the upper class appeal of this fancy Irvine amusement center. more

Way too big and crowded 9/26/2005

The Spectrum has gotten out of control recently. It used to just be a nice place to catch a flick and grab a bite to eat but now it's massive! Parking can be a nightmare and there are almost TOO many choices of restaurants. I think they have 3 sushi places! It houses the only Improv in South County so if you are looking for comedy you are stuck but otherwise I'd suggest heading to a place that isn't so crowded and huge. more

Overrated 8/24/2005

This outdoor shopping mall is highly overrated. It is filled with upper-middle class chain dining restaurants that are usually average at best (ex. Cheesecake Factory). The movie theatre is a little on the expensive side ($9 for students) and parking is especially hard to find due to the construction. There is however, unique experiences such as a (very very small) outdoor ice skating rink, and a Ferris wheel that is usually not operating. Most of the stores are not worth shopping at. It's basically a good date spot for someone you don't really know, because there's enough distractions around. more

Spectrum has really become the place to go in Irvine. With all the new stores opening the center full of people. Walking around proves to be a great time and there is something for everyone. There is a wide selection of movies and most the theaters are clean and comfortable. Buy your tickets ahead of time, especially on opening weekends. They also have a student discount. more

Fun 8/16/2005

Irvine Spectrum is located off the exit where the 405 and the 5 freeway meets. There are stores to go shopping, there are restaurants, and there is a huge theater with IMAX viewing. The problem with Irvine Spectrum is parking. With severe renovation that is going on at the moment, parking has become far worse. Expect to park far away and expect to walk far if you're planning on going to the theater. more

Great Dining and Shopping. 8/9/2005

The Irvine Spectrum is a great place for fine dining, shopping, and great entertainment. The spectrum has a wide of variety of different restaurants, from The Cheesecake factory, P.F Changs, and Thaifoon. Friday and Saturday nights, you will need to make reservations or you will be looking to wait 30-45 minutes for seats. The spectrum also has multiple entertainment venues. It has a 20 screen movie theater, The Irvine Improv, Dave and Busters, and Fox Sports grill, where you can eat, drink, and have some fun. more

I like to shop at Irvine spectrum center because a lot of shops has variety of clothes. i love clothes. Their clothes is not that expensive. In this center, you will find a lot of stores that are for young women. You can find jewley, clothes and shoes. Great area and location. Overall, I recommend this place is excellent to shop. more

Terrific Place to Visit! 8/7/2005

The Spectrum is a great place to spend some time on the weekends. Its full of amazing restaurants, shops, and a huge Edwards Movie. Parking can be ridiculous, but they have added parking structures which has really helped. The stores get better and better, and a Nordstrom's is coming this Fall. The Ferris Wheel, train, and carousel make this a must visit place for my family. more

Great Place Around O.C. 8/6/2005

It's a really nice place around O.C. There is nice restaurants cinema, stores, and hang out place. The shops and rest. open til late late!!! They are adding more parking space so it would be easier to find a parking space in the future! There is even some department stores available!!! It's a nice place for family, singles, and couples to go!!! more

Movie Theater is great 8/4/2005

The Irvine Spectrum Center is a great outdoor mall in Southern California. My favorite part of the mall is the theater...it's a multiplex that also has an IMAX screen. The IMAX screen is fantastic...even though it costs a few dollars more to see a movie on IMAX, it is completely worth the extra money. If there is ever another 3D movie like "The Polar Express" on that screen, I can not recommend it enough seeing it on IMAX at the Spectrum. The other screens are also highly recommended...the sound and picture quality are at the high end of the spectrum. Overall it is highly recommended. more

Best hangout Place 6/23/2005

Irvine Spectrum is a great place to hang out. They offer many shops- including pet store, clothes, shoe, and restaurant. I love to go here to hangout with my friends on the weekend either to catch a movie or window shopping. They had the best parking lots all around. It is full automatic. more

Irvine Spectrum center is a great mall. They have everything from a movie theater to restaurant. Their light displays are amazing. I love to go here during their Christmas season because they have an ice skate ring and everything is very nicely decorated. Irvine Spectrum is a great place to hangout and spends time with friends. more

Growing Shopping center 6/21/2005

I love to shop at Irvine Spectrum Center. They have all sorts of store and shop there and it growing. If you ever pass by Irvine Spectrum Center, you can see the beautiful neon lights and the search light from miles away. Irvine Spectrum Center is the only shopping center that has a permanent ferris wheel. They also have a ice skate ring during December. more

Irvine Spectrum Center is a beautiful place to hangout. I love going to Irvine Spectrum Center. Their movie theater is huge and so colorful. The theater is packed full of neon light. They offer huge show times, so if you miss one, you can get another one. Their parking lots if state of the art. I was shock that the display told me how many spots are left in which level. more

Great place to spend the weekend 6/20/2005

Irvine Spectrum Center is a great place to shop or to catch a movie. You can literaly see the bright search ligth from Irvine Spectrum from the freeways; does not matter if your on the 5 or 405; once you are near there, you can see eyes blinding light. Irvine Spectrum has all sort of things you can do. You can eat, shop, and even check out pet. Highly Recommended. more
