These guys towed my 76 Cruiser into their shop in '93, with 60K miles on it because I had turned it on it's side. The owner charged me $50 a day for storage in a cow pasture in Wimberly before they moved to New Braunfels. Also took my hard top. I called them after a month and they said I owed $1500, which I did not have at the time. The owner would not work with me to get it back, he clearly wanted the several thousand dollars in parts from it. They are crooks of the highest order. Had my truck in there to rebuild and mount a diesel engine into my landcruiser and had a horrible experience. They never kept me updated on the status, straight up ignored my phone calls and messages, ignored my instructions. When I finally picked up the truck I discovered a few months later after I took the truck into another mechanic the following They forgot to connect 3 vaccum line hoses The engine mounts @ the bottom had 3 bolts that were very loose The valve cover had the 3 bolts very loose causing a lot of oil spillage To top it all they forgot to put in any engine oil when I picked up the truck (discovered when I got home) I would dissuade anyone from ever dealing with the likes of this shop as all they have exhibited is poor workmanship and shoddy service. Haven't used Daniel and grant for service work, but they were a great resource for parts and knowledge during the restoration of my FJ60. Very friendly and helpful. We're recommended to me by other Land Cruiser owners. more

While the owner comes off as an expert in matters of landcruisers, the shop and staff seem overloaded and overwhelmed. I wish I had done my research before using this shop. My truck stayed out in their yard for over 6 months and the whole time the owner lied to me about actually working on it. When I pressed him about it he had some excuse or another about his queue and some personal life problems. He did not return any of my calls and was never forthright in letting me know of any possible delay. Avoid this shop if you plan on seeing your truck complete in < 1 year. They have one good mechanic on staff, but they are always so busy working on projects that never really finish there is always a queue of cars/trucks and unfinished projects. Pros: Nice mechanic Cons: Dishones more

Once you get your car/truck in there, say goodbye to it for a quarter at least. The owner lacks any sense of communication skills, constantly has some excuse and takes on too much work that he can never deliver against. Please avoid this shop at all costs. I cannot stress this enough. The owner will talk your head off about information to impress you, but when it actually comes to doing the work or following through on commitments he is severely lacking in any sense of accountability or responsibility. Great guys to deal with. They are extremely busy and have a ton of Landcruisers to repair/restore. Understaffed as they only have two guys in the shop. One does major repairs and is a 'Cruiser Guru. The other I think is new but from what I saw does excellent metal fabrication. The owner can be moody, but generally a good guy who likes to talk about Toyotas and auto racing. I bought a 1978 HJ45 nearly two years ago and have had no problems with the truck. Since that time Daniel and staff have been excellent to work with. They are always willing to offer tech advice and point me in the right direction concerning good shops/vendors for parts and service. On a side note companies are in business to make a profit. It is the responsibility of the consumer to negotiate a fair price and to do their research before making a large purchase such as this. I would avoid purchaseing a Land Cruiser or anything from these two guys. It is a nice place to go and look but they are dishonest and shifty and their goal is to get every last penny they can get out of you. If you know what you are looking at and what it is worth, you may have a chance but if not, you will overpay for a vehicle that has more hidden problems than you expect. Business run by two Brothers who profess to be expert on repairs rebuilding JF 40 Landcruiser jeeps. I left a 1978 in near showroom condition to have suspension modification done before selling vehicle. Returned after 2 months to find vehicle had been left outside in all weather condtions with major damage to exterior of vehicle with multiple areas of rust and corrosion and damage to leather seats from soiling and water damage. Both Brothers refused to acknowledge any damage to vehicle. Am pursuing legal rights. This business is as bad as it comes Would avoid at all cost. Are unprofessional, irresponsible and neglect and abuse vehicles under their care. Would not trust to change tire. more
