Ladies and Gentlemen. It is a Jail. Its not supose to be a Great place to stay and accomidate you in every way to keep u happy. Sux they dont hold ur hand through the process when they got 600+ other inmates in the jail. Shame on them. If you dont want to go to jail dont break the law there just doing there job. if you dont want a ticket dont speed...1+ who cares your over. THERE IS NO QUOTA that they have to meet (there is a law bout that outlawed that) they dont get bonuses. Wilco commissioners are stingee will never approve them to get bonuses. Thats why they almost make the least in the county law enforsement jobs. more

HELLO PEOPLE!! Its called JAIL! I think it is quite amusing that you people know which jails are the ""good"" ones, have you been in that much trouble throughout your life that you have stayed in all these jails, and PROUD to review about them! WOW, this is not a hotel review, you get what you get, these prison guards are working their butts off working long irregular hours, SO WHAT if they try to have LUNCH! BIG DEAL! If you obeyed the law you would be able to eat fast food too, I am very glad that it is such a horrid experience for you, you arent supposed to like it, I give them 5 stars for DOING THEIR JOBS and keeping criminals off the streets! more

I have been to Wilco jail numerous times, everytime is just as great as the last. Recently in March I failed a UA so I spent 15 days. Intake took them 36 hours to fingerprint and book me before I went upstairs. 1st time in 2007-2008 when I was released and it was time for me to go, they decide to tell me and keep me an extra 3 hours, that I haven't spent 6 months in their jail and therefore I may need to go back upstairs for a remainder of 90 days...after yelling and calling my lawyer and showing them EVERY ounce of paperwork, they said ""okay, you're free to go"" I have no respect for the intake sasquatches, the real respect should be given to the CO's upstairs because they are nice and respectful back to inmates. There are a select few newbies who deserve to be ""taken to the showers"" they'll get the hang of things sooner or later.\r I am due back this Thursday and the only thing I'm not looking forward to is dissorganization and fat f*cking wannabe cops passing around SONIC, McDonald's, What-a-burger, and Subway while talking on the phones to their friends. OH and Monkeybonz...They DO MAKE MONEY OFF HAVING US IN THEIR JAIL...My uncle is a Lieutenant you dumb broad. We all know that jail is not supposed to be a fun place, and never is.. But these guys are soooo ridiculously unorganized that it is getting way out of hand and starting to seem pretty corrupt. Either that or they are really just that dumb. I had a traffic ticket for no seatbelt and failure to change address on my ID out of Travis County, in which I was on a payment plan of $90 a month to pay it off. I missed 2 months of the plan in a row, in which there was only $125 left to pay. Williamson County pulls me over for going 3 miles over the limit and takes me to jail for these unpaid tickets out of Travis County. Now.. all of this seems somewhat normal policework. UNTIL I GOT TO THE WILLIAMSON COUNTY JAIL... First off, I understand the officers are not supposed to be friendly in jail, but Jesus Christ! Im here for $100 worth of no seatbelt ticket! After sitting there for nearly 4 hours waiting for them to finally call me up, they're telling me I owe them over $600!! They would not listen to what I was saying when I explained that I was on a payment plan with Travis County on these tickets, and had paid most of them off. They just kept acting all hard and telling me they would only accept in full, or I could sit there for 2 weeks. I had work in the morning and a daughter to get home to, what other option did I have? After getting a friend to bring up a $600 money order in the middle of the night, which was their ONLY payment method, I finally get out of that horrid place. So unorganized This was over a year ago, and I didn't feel the need to post a bad review about it. Until now, when my best friend is going through the EXACT SAME THING! He had a ticket from 4 years ago that was paid off in full, and now they are claiming that he never paid the ticket and that they are going to stop at no end to come to his work, school, and home to collect they're money. Inmates are people too. Some people go to jail and it's their first offense. They spend hard time for having a joint. \r Inmates are kept cold. Yes, the building can keep more heat than what is given to the inmates. They have thin uniforms to wear in that cold and a thin blanket to keep warm at night... provided they have a blanket. It can take three weeks to get a towel to dry off with after a shower... when it's so cold.\r Inmates are often charged with additional charges a few weeks after their stay in the Jail. And passed around from Jail to Jail to pay off anyone's fines. \r NO WHERE ELSE (that I know of) ARE THE INMATES TREATED LIKE THIS, BEFORE OR DURING, THEIR INCARCERATION. Pros: Houses criminals? WILCO has the WORST reputation of treatment by Law Enforcement authority in Central Texas! Why? Who knows?! Is it due to County Officials who would rather line their pocketbooks than pay County workers their worth? Hmm! Given the growth in WILCO, one would think there should be plenty of $$ to go around if you take a look at property taxes here. It's such a shame too! Ok folks, first off cops do not get extra days off for making arrests, they get to do paperwork. And jails do not get money from the govt. for housing prisoners, it cost them money to house your dumb a$$e$. I find it amusing you all posted how unpleasant being in jail was. Well I guess it served it's purpose as you all clearly do not want to go back. Yes Williamson County is tough on crime. That is no secret, never has been. The law abiding citizens appreciate it. Well first we'll begin with my story. My EX boyfriend decided to beat up on me one night and the neighbors were concerned enough to call the cops, great news right?? NO WAY! the cops come to the house after we were done fighting already with about 3 squad cars. They knock on the door and I went out to talk to them thinking that they would want to talk to the girl who was getting beat up on. Instead of protecting and serving they proceeded to call me a crackhead since i was skinnier then my Dl photo!!!! they were awful to me and ended up somehow searching my car and found a old roach. about a month and half later a warrant was issued for my arrest that i knew NOTHING of. shouldn't i get some paperwork or something so that i can do the responsible thing and pay my fine???? I sat in jail for over 24 hours on that one.\r \r As of right now my boyfriend has been in jail for over 24 hours because our DPS obviously can't file paperwork correctly. He went in at 11:30 am and didn't get booked in until almost 11 pm!!!!WTF are they doing around there??? put down the burger and book in these people! So i call since i'm worried and they are blatantly rude to me like I'M THE ONE IN JAIL!!?!?!?! you know when you have a loved one being held but they have no record of him being there its a lil scary!\r \r I hate WilCO county, i moved here 3 years ago and just moved farther south so that i am completely out of their jurisdiction. They are not to be trusted, they WILL plant drugs in you car and they WILL come up with anyway to make an arrest. It's a sad day when they people who pay their salaries see a cop and can't say "" Thank God there is a cop nearby, at least i know i'll be safe."" My Son got picked up on what he had on him. Then they let me post Bond. Then they decide to keep him and will not give any information why. ""looks like some other charges are coming up."" What charges? No one could tell me. He hasn't seen a judge. He doesn't know why. I called up there and the lady on the phone was very nice and repectful by the way, seems to be looking at the same screen I'm looking at on my computer. When they decide to keep someone they better be able to tell us why. Pros: The lady on the phone was nice every time I called. Cons: Its in the headline and subject matter. more

I am a 66 year old grandmother. I have never had a ticket - NEVER - for anything! We moved back to Texas (my husband was raised here) when we retired. I have never been so disillusioned by ANYTHING as Williamson County! Liberty Hill and Georgetown are absolutely the WORST places to live. We do not have police officers - WE HAVE ENFORCERS. and - they don't mind lying! Parents - please tell your teen-agers that they do not have to let the enforcers search their cars!! You can't drive down Highway 29 in Liberty Hill on any week-end without seeing 2 or 3 police cars and their dog stopping a car with only 1 teen in it. Ok I got arrested at school I go to georgetown hs they pull me out of class and tell me I have a warrent for harrasment ""one of my friends called some kid and said he he was gonna beat him up"" well I get blamed for it and I go to jail for four day and got a 5000 dollor bail well I paid everything and got out well I still don't no y im was in there cuz I dident do anything and how can they have prof if so I go to the police station at school and ask them y I got arrested and they say o we can't tell u ""what kind of bs is this"" they gave me to # of the det so I called him well he dident answer and I left a message and still no response well I guess no one knows y I went to jail lol f my life p.s if your driving throw wilco drive as fast as u can to get out believe me u don't want to go to jail here more

Absolutely the worst experience of my life. We were pulled over for speeding(less than 5 mi over). we were then searched where they found 1 joint in my husband's cig pack. They proceeded to tear our truck apart looking for god knows what. None of us have ever been in any trouble, we were totally cooperative. They never even asked for my ID or my 21 yr olds ID. They did go through my purse without my consent & brought my license to me from my wallet. Still did not ask for my sons ID nor did they ask him to remove his dard sunglassed. (He could have been a serial killer for all they knew). Not complaining about it just pointing out their motives here, which is the obvious. go for the money making charges. They brought dogs & 2 more cars with Narcs. STUPID!!! We are not hard criminals or a threat to anyone. Yet were handcuffed & treated as such. My husband went to jail @2:00pm, had to stay overnight & now it is 1:00pm next day & still has not seen the judge. This is BS & I am furious!!! Where do you turn & how do you report ""A"" holes like this. They are the ones that make all cops look bad & make our children afraid of them & hate them. We have lived in Burnet for 6 yrs & between the corrupt cops here & in Liberty Hill I would not recommend living in Burnet or Liberty Hill to anyone unless you are prepared to have all your civil rights stripped. They are the law & they make it very well known they can & will do what ever they want. PROTECT & SERVE on their uniforms is a f...n joke! I really hope that people are extremely aware when or if driving thru that town. How can you be expected to trust a police dept that has been in the news for so much corruption within the force to begin with. This is a sad sad world we live in now & I am sorry mchildren will have to deal with it. The jail personel on the phone is rude & incosiderate. They offer no help & really don't care about people. All these idiots who have been in jail, are allowed to write reviews? Jail is not a VACATION. Jail is a PUNISHMENT. Instead of writing a terrible review, ya'll should go back to school and at least learn how to spell. Also, jail is preventative--don't commit crimes, and you don't have to worry about going there. more

Where to begin? I was brought in to this place for a misdemeanor warrant. (bad check for 22 dollars) My bond was set for 500 dollars. WHAT? So I tell my wife to bring the 500 bond to the jail. Guess what, i have to see the judge to set my bond. (my bond was already set, the judge just said uhh umm it is 500 to get out. RETARDED. So my wife being the loving person that she is brings the 500 dollars to the jail. Where she proceeds to sit for 2 hours while the (correctional officers) or SH's eats his fat self fatter. Finally they take the money she asks will my husband be informed that i have paid this for him. To which the SH's respond ""Yes ma'am we will let him no immediately."" LIARS.. ALL LIARS. I was never informed my bond was paid even though i asked multiple time. Well anytime the SH's came by the crowded cells. They said, we don't know you need to call her and find out. They know you can not call from the jail to a cell phone, and who does not have a cell phone? Then i proceed to wait for 7 hours while i am being processed out because they are soo busy. In the time between my bond being paid and me being released, the SH's only released 7 people. If done correctly it should only take an average of 10 minutes per person to be released. Trust me.. i stood at that window and watched. Yet in takes them an average of 55 minutes per person because they don't care. They know who is in there for misdemeanor stuff and who is in there for felonies yet they treat everyone like they are dogs. Stay on freezing concrete all day and all night. almost 18 people to a cell that is 10 foot by fifteen foot. A toilet that everyone watches you use. Food that i wouldn't feed to a starving ratt. The SH's don't care about anything but chatting up thier fat friends, eating everything in sight, making you stay in the holding cell. Denying you the time, and the favorite saying..""Hold on i will check on that.. I HOPE YOU ALL BURN IN THE SEVENTH CIRCLE OF HELL FOR YOUR INDISCRECIANS...
