In ShortThis countryside estate located off the William Floyd Parkway is not on Fire Island, but in Mastic, Long Island, and is administered as part of the National Seashore. The site preserves the home of Declaration of Independence-signer General William Floyd and features a collection of original furnishings, family heirlooms and photographs. All of the items were donated to the federal government along with the property by the Nicolls-Floyd family in 1974.
