My boyfriend and I dedicated a Friday afternoon to the Bronx Zoo and had a blast. Definitely the highlight of our trip. The baby gorillas and monkeys are the best!
If you can, spend 3 - 4 hours at least. We had to rush back to the city but would have really liked to spend more time there.
Make sure you also budget your time to travel by train, it is simple and cheap.
