Wild Orchid Hair Salon

If I could give 0 stars I would.\r I am in from NY visiting my parents with my kids! My parents offered to watch the kids so I can have some ""me time"". I hadn't had a haircut since August, so I felt that was a good choice. I did some research on Yelp and thought this place sounded great! Liz(the owner) got great reviews, so I went to her.\r \r When I got there, my hair was up in a pony tail with a ton of hair spray in it because I was running around with my kids that morning. Liz sat me down in the chair and I took out my pony tail. I told her I was unhappy with my last cut in August and that I wanted something FRESH and new! I told her a few styles I've liked in the past but that I was a mom and wanted something that I can also do quick if need be. \r \r Then she began cutting!!! She didn't even wash my hair! She then stated she had to cut it dry because she had to see what she was dealing with. So I figured maybe this was how it worked in Florida and that she was just going to trim a little and then wash and really style it. NOPE. Then she pulled out the flat iron....ON DIRTY HAIR WITH HAIRSPRAY IN IT!!! I was in shock at that point and asked her if she was planning on washing it. She then said again that she needed to cut it dry. She basically trimmed some of the layers I already had and didn't like and moved my hair around a lot. It was almost like she really had no idea what she was doing. \r \r At the end, she put some wax in the back to show me how I can flip it out since that was one of the styles I told her I liked in the past. THEN she asked me if I still wanted it washed and said it looked really cute! At that point, I couldn't wait to get out of there so I said I would wash it at home.\r \r My one hour of ME time turned into a complete disaster with no pampering...\r It was so bad, that my mom even asked me when I walked in the door if I got my hair cut at all!! She charged me $40 for this horrible cut. \r \r The next day I called to complain to the owner about Liz only to find out she was the owner. I told the receptionist about my experience and she was apologetic about it and offered to have the co owner (her daughter) call me back since she said they don't give refunds. She explained that they normally offer you to come back for free when situations like this happen. I said that was fine and I look forward to speaking with her daughter. \r \r 10 minutes later, LIZ CALLS! She called to basically asked why I didn't like it and tried to defend herself by stating that my hair was in such bad shape she had to cut it like that. I told her all the reasons why I was upset. I told her how I walked in there wanted something fresh and new and came out looking the same and how she flat ironed hair with a ton of hairspray in it which damaged my hair. She just continued to try and defend herself and then said maybe there was a miscommunication. At the end of the call she just said sorry. She didn't offer for me to come in to get it fixed or even offer me another service to make up for this disaster. \r \r I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone considering the OWNER doesn't know what she is doing. She should have given me a refund or offered a sincere apology and offered me something to make up for it. STAY AWAY! more

I have been to every stuffy, overpriced hair salon in Boca Raton, Florida and by far this is the best experience I have had in years. I read the reviews and had to giggle thinking that one of the reviews was falsified. Chris is the BEST colorist and stylist, while Lyz did my extensions and they were far superior to others in the past. They offer 2 types of extension systems; the system I selected had a much longer, less shedding result than the Great Lengths. All extensions shed, just as natural hair does and some people are not good candidates to wear them. I will add that most people CAN wear them and need to follow the instructions for optimal results. The staff is fantastic and pricing is fair. I love them and will remain loyal to their good work. I give them 5*s more

NoStars For LIZ ! I am signing LIZ and the Wild Orchid Hair Salon up to be on the reality show by Bravo 'Tabathas Salon Takeover.' This place is a Wild Mess.Just Awful! Do not waste your hard earned money or time in this unprofessional saon. Liz and the rest do not know how to run a business and need to be taught the right way by Tabatha. I was quoted thousands for hair extensions, Im only a student with a part time job. I got them to say they would do just half a head and still wasnt sure I wanted that cuz it would cost a thousand. They MADE me leave my credit card number and information which I stupidly did. I did not even want the extensions when I read all the feedback on these sites of this salon on how their extensions were just falling out all over the place. So I called and told them, Liz said it was too bad, she already ordered them and charged my card already! Needless to say the extensions are sitting in her shop because I do not trust Liz or Wild Orchid to put them in properly as the last reviewer said and cannot afford her high prices anyway. They will not even put my money back on my credit card even after I called and wrote letters to Liz and the Credit card company.This is very Unprofessional. Do not waste your hard earned mney because Liz is Overpriced, she feels she has a captive audience with the wealthy people of Boca Raton. I am out over $1,000.00 and cannot sign up for my next semester or make car payments because I ignorantly gave LIZ my credit card number. Please do not step in the door to this place, do yourself a favor and do your homework! I am sorry I ever saw this salon. \r Liz has absolutely no empathy,or sympathy.Just plain rude with no humanity or kindness.Liz will hold your credit card hostage and there is nothing you can do about it. I have started going to wild Orchid hair salon, I used to go all the way to coral springs for my hair and nails. Liz did my extensions and Dana did my color. I loved both of the work that they did. My hair is shiny and looks great! My sister Anna told me about this place and I have loved her hair for some time. Hers looks like Kardasians beautiful and full. My sister said ""I told you so"". I'm so pleased with the people that work there, they are friendly and love to talk and laugh! Great shop!! Janet did a great job on my nails!! more

When i called to make my 1st apt. the girls at the desk were so nice! Then when i went in for my apt. they were all smiling and in good moods! It was very up beat! The girl that did my hair was AWESOME!!!!!! So easy to talk to like we had been friends for years! When my hair was done it was BEAUTIFUL! Just what I asked for and more! I went to pay and to my surprise it was less then i had thought! (that made me very happy!)\r \r Now 5 years later they feel like family!!!!!!! Pros: FRIENDLY AND HONEST!! Cons: NONE! more

I had my hair extensions done by Liz Who also owns Rasberries Hair Salon. as well. She new I was in A rush As I was Going out of town!! She sold me the worst hair Sole cap at great Length prices. Needless the hair sheaded every where. I know hair sheads but not like this. The extentions thined out with in a month. the hair was every where. In my food all over my clothing!. Mind you she forgot to tell me what she charged to remove my other ones! Liz will take you to the cleaners and back if you let her. Do not use this salon. My hair lasted a month and a half. I was there laast weekend for a makeover of my out-dated look! They gave me a new style and color that I can't stop getting compliments on! I have thin hair so this was no easy task! This Salon has the best colorists and stylists in Boca. Not to mention the prices are way under what others are charging in the area. Everyone seems to get along great. When you go there you can almost guarantee you will run in to a very funny conversation that will get you laughing. Lot of fun. Use to go here as a regular and pay $175 for highlights, base and haircut .. tipped well too ... then I decided .. why am I paying these prices in an atmosphere of rude & noisy staff and patrons ... not to mention ... it can be a real gamble depending on the ""mood"" of the hairdresser that day! ... Avoid this nightmare and take your money elsewhere! more

This is the WORST salon EVER!!!! They mysteriously cancel your appointments OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN!! I had to go to a wedding once and THREE days before they cancelled my appointment WITHOUT MY CONSENT and on TOP of that the lady at the front desk was SOOOO RUDE!!! I used to work at a salon and there is NO way that can happen unless the workplace is SOOO untogether (like they are)!! Another time they canceled my sisters PROM HAIR APPT. on the DAY OF PROM!! So one hairstylist was available so as DESPERATE as my sister was she had him do her hair. AND IT WAS HORRIBLE!! Her updo fell out ONE HOUR later!!! And on top of that they CHARGED HER FULL PRICE!!!!
