Terrible 5/12/2011

I've never been to the Wild Onion before tonight. I went there right after my Tai Chi class (which ends at 9pm) tonight to join some friend to toast someone who passed away 4 years ago in a tragic plane accident. I get to the door and the door guy says there is a dress code and my dark gray sweats (dark) were not code. I explain why I am there and he asks me where I live and if I could go change. I said west of Minneapolis so no. He asks the manager (it's 9:20pm now) and the manager says no, don't let me in. So if I had been there at 8:50pm I could have gotten in but now that it's past 9 I can't join my friends to remember someone who has passed on? Wow. Never been there, never will go back. Great way to treat your customers. more

Pretty Decent Restaurant & Bar 9/23/2005

The Wild Onion has a great location, that's for sure. Located right in the middle of fun Grand Avenue, they draw a crowd of locals & college students every night of the week. The food is good - but not outstanding. It's bar food, with a restaurant twist. The pastrami is pretty decent, though the mustard was lacking. The beer is cold, and there's always drinks specials. The music is loud, even if it is Pop 20. All in all the Wild Onion is a fun place to visit if you just need somewhere moderatly priced to eat on Grand. more

Great place to spend a night! 9/14/2005

I love the location of the Wild Onion and what they have to offer. Great atmosphere to go along with a happening joint and reasonable prices. There is always something happening on grand avenue and Wild Onion is right in the middle of it all. There has been a great variety of people there the times I've been there. With many local colleges this is the place to be if your in your 20's! more

Good Food, Good Drinks 8/19/2005

This bar is a nice place to do happy hour and the food is good. They have a great martini menu and the key lime martini is very yummy. The spinach dip is also very good. They have a great deal if it's your birthday and you bring in a certain number of friends (I believe it's 5) then you get a huge mug of drinks (mixed or beer) a t-shirt, appetizers, cake and you receive a picture of your party. more
