I called the resort to book a room, and they steered me to the ""villas"" which are some sort of beach condo rooms they rent out around the resort.\r

Well, I'm here now, and boy I wish I had gone somewhere more upscale.\r

From the bleach stains on the carpet, to the popcorn ceilings, to the badly patched holes in the bathroom walls (along with some sort of yellow crust also on a bathroom wall), to the dirty linens and the plastic faux-wicker furniture, I'm just not liking it.\r

Apparently the beach is dangerous here, so dangerous that the resort is telling me to go to another part of the island ""during high tide"" if I want to go to the beach. Maybe this is because of the severe beach erosion that other reviewers have mentioned? I don't know, but that sort of makes the beach-side villa not so beach-side. \r
\r
And yes, there really are stray cats wandering around the resort. \r

This feels like the kind of place that college kids go on spring break rather than a place for adults (even with kids in tow). I am thankful that I'm only going to be here for a weekend.
Pros: close to beach, nice view
Cons: rooms horrible, and beach dangerous
