Wichita Feed & Hardware

I live right down the street from these guys and they are truely great!!. i use them for all my hardware needs. I needed some tools and hardware for a solar panel i was making and they had everything i needed on hand more

When I was a kid I lived right next door! The house is no longer there but my memories are.\r In the summer one of the employees (Art) used to give my brother, sister and me fudge cycles. :)\r At Christmas time money saved from our chores we'd go "shopping" at Wichita feed and hardware. I bought my Mom a silver tea set and my Dad a hammer. \r Our first sled was purchased there. Waxed it up and down 58Th hill we would go! Such fun.\r My brother is left handed and guess who had a left handed mitt??? Yep! Wichita!!\r Walking through the store brings me back to my childhood. I buy everything I can from Wichita Feed, even if it costs a bit more, because when stores like this are gone, we are all fed to the corporate lions.\r An example: I bought a spray bottle from Store FM just down the road that failed after a few uses. I didn't keep my sales slip so that was that.\r I bought my next one from Wichita Feed, a much better made item by the way, as I don't imagine they stock junk when the buyer is likely the same person that is selling and the same person that has to handle returns.\r When I asked the woman who sold it to me what would happen if that one failed and I didn't have my sales slip, she said "Don't worry, I'll remember you." Try that at Fred Meyer. Of course she didn't need to worry about remembering me because the one she sold me still works after 5 years. more

We have purchased many items from Wichita. Items ranging in price from 99cents to an expensive $999 Trager Grill, its the same excellent, knowledgeable staff. My family has been going there for generations, its not fancy, just old school good people. We enjoy supporting local business. more

We have a Home Depot just up the street but half the time they don't have what I'm looking for. The store is huge and no one seems to know where anything is. At Wichita, not only do they ALWAYS have exactly what I'm looking for,they are the most helpful people I've ever seen. I've gone there for plumbing stuff, screws for a Harley I was building and many other things. The best part is that if you need 3 screws, that is how many you can buy. They have the old time individual bins with stainless, zinc or any other type you can imagine. Plus it's a mom and pop business that really appreciates your business. Definitely worth the extra drive. more

I was looking for a panel mounted illuminated switch that you would think you could find at and electronics store. Well I couldn't find one at an electronics store or even a major electronic catalog. But I was referred to the Wichita Feed And Hardware store on a long shot from the last electronic store I visited and what do you know? They had the exact switch that I needed. I have been amazed several times by this store and I recommend anyone to stop there first before going to any of the big box stores. They also have a very helpful staff that talks with you and not down to you. more

In the process of building a chicken coop, I couldn't find 1" welded wire fence anywhere else in town. Reminds me of the old hardware stores I used to visit with my dad, the huge selection and friendly help. more

I LOVE Wichita Feed and Hardware!!! I have can find whatever I need there in the line of hardware, plumbing, electrical, pet supplies, garden supplies, and so on. One time I even found a seal for an old pressure cooker that I inherited from my grandmother. WOW!! I thought I would have to write the manufacturer for that. And a bonus is -I get to patronize a great local business! Beats the heck out of those big impersonal conglomerates! I would DEFINITELY recommend them!!! more

Need a part quickly? Don't have time to deal with home Depot? Stop in Wichita Feed & Hardware! It is right down the strre (maybe 3/4 a mile) from HD. There prices are even cheaper on most items I have bought here. And unlike HD you can find someone to help you if needed quickly. Check it out when you need something in a hurry :-) more

This little place has everything! When I needed a drill bit piece, the staff was very friendly in helping me. They took the time to help me find what I needed, as I had no idea. Although they are located "out of the way", if you are in the area and need something, I highly recommend them. more
