I placed an order by phone. I am a total layperson when it comes to how much tile to purchase. When I gave him the accurate square footage, I thought I could rely on this salesperson to give me correct advice about how much tile to purchase. Not only did he not give me a correct estimate about how much tile I would need, he did not advise me that no portion of this special order was returnable. My tiler picked up the tiles and forgot to get a receipt for me. The next day, I tried to return the tiles and was told I couldn't because it was a special order. I was told that it says so on the receipt. They refused to believe that I did not have a receipt and that it would have been impossible to pick up the tile without a receipt. My tiler confirmed to them by phone that he did indeed pick up the tile WITHOUT a receipt. Then when I asked for a receipt for my records, they said couldn't supply one because they were a wholesale business. According to them, NO wholesale companies give receipts for phone orders. I was dumbfounded. I cannot ever remember not receiving a receipt for an item ordered by phone. I left Wholesale Flooring with the issue unresolved, without a receipt for my records, with four boxes of tile that I do not need and a resolve not to shop at Wholesale Flooring again. Too bad, because they have an excellent selection of tiles. I advise--DO NOT order from them by phone! And insist on a receipt in person when you make the purchase. Until this incident I found the salespersons very polite and helpful, but will not shop there again.
