I have stayed at this whitten Inn before in the past and have a fairly good experience. This time....not so much. First there were issues with the resverations. They lost them, then found, then lost, then found them. The front desk apparently had no communication with each other. They refused my AARP discount this time, stating that because the ""hotel"" was full, they would not honor it this time. They have in the past. First the front door would not open properly. You had to almost kick it in to open. The room had a giant crack in the celining extending from the front door to the back wall. Part of the ceiling finish actually fell into the bed while I was sleeping. The room smelled musty and old. The king size bed had a mattress issue. One side sloped downard. I actually fell out of bed because of this. The toilet was dirty, the sink had no stopper, the towels were worn and almost see through. If your going to charge people almost $100 a night, then you might want to spruce the place up a bit, get some staff who actually know what they are doing, have a cocktail lounge where the bartendes actually know how to mix drinks, and have rooms where the bed isn't broken, and the ceiling dosen't fall in on you.
