New Favorite Hangout! 2/23/2012

I have been to Whitfields several times before for dinner and always had great food and excellent service but not really the place where the girls and I would hang out after work till now. Got an email about the Happy Hour Event going on all night on Wednesdays and the new lineup for music they have this month so the girls and I decided to check it out and so glad we did. The vibe last night was so much more fun than I remember, way better than we anticipated. Headed back this weekend to hear some of the new music they have lined up. I don't remember them having an appetizer menu before but I guess its new. All I know is that I loved the korean bbq wraps - they are excellent. Bar was packed last night, we met so many fun new people. Great place to enjoy dinner anytime and now its my new favorite hangout with the girls! more

Once is enough 9/3/2011

I drive by Whitfield's Restaurant almost every day and when Living Social offered a $30 dollars worth of food for $15 I purchased one thinking this would be a good deal. Believe me the $15 as well as the other $80 we shelled out for 2 drinks, 2 salads and 2 entrees was way too much for barely mediocre food. If I am going to spend that much I hope I come away with the feeling I had a great meal and would love to come back again. When it came to dessert we had had enough and hoped they would at least have great coffee or coffee drinks. When I asked if they had cappuccino they said no they only had french press coffee. I'm sorry but we had just spent $95 for our meal and they only have french press coffee!!! Service was good. Not a bad looking place but nothing fantastic. Very nice art on the walls though. All for sale!! more

Do Not Go Here: Inedible and Overpriced 8/10/2011

I am eating a cheese sandwich tonight at my house because the food at Whitfield's was so horrible. Not sure which was worse, the atmosphere or the food. Actually it was definitely the food. We were all ready for girls night on the town and ended up at an old folks' home. Seriously, an orange sauce on $30 fish? The wait staff didn't even want to be there. Do yourself a favor and just go to Taco Bell you'll eat better food and have a better time. more

AWESOME! 6/23/2011

It was my girlfriends and mines one year and a half anniversary. I wanted to try somewhere that wasn't a chain and was still sorta ""upper-class"" type restaurant. Being only 21 years old, this place hit the ticket. We were greeted be a VERY gracious hostess who seated us immediately despite us being rather early for our reservation. Our waitress (Amy or...Lauren?) was excellent and really knew her stuff about the menu! While we waited for our food, we listened to the pianist play some GREAT songs ranging from Billy Joel to Frank Sinatra. It made the time fly fast! The food was AWESOME too. I had the Italian Gnocci and my girlfriend had the ceaser salad with shrimp. If you're looking for a relaxing evening with friends (in an upscale place) or a romantic evening, here is the place! more

Excellent 2/6/2009

My husband and I try to go to a different restaurant each Friday and Whitfield's was chosen last week. I had the pasta special (3 cheese alfredo w/chicken) and it was super yummy and well priced. I also had the best pear martini I have ever tasted. The hubby had the filet and I can honestly say, it was the best filet I have ever had. The portions were appropriate. Our server Jamie was extremely attentive and helpful with the menu. We will definitely be going back very soon. Pros: Atmosphere, Service, Great food more

Best in Town 1/18/2009

This is the best place to go for excellent service and excellent food. The chef is out of this world. The servers know what they are talking about and consistenly make sure you are happy. the owner makes rounds to also ensure his guests are pleased. Me and my husband come here regularly and it is one of our favorite places. Pros: Great Food, Great Service, Great Atmosphere more

Loved it! 8/20/2008

This was my first time to Whitfield's and loved it!. My pan-seared trout was fabulous. We sat in the back, where to me, the atmosphere was bit more casual and at ease. Enjoyed the piano player. Wilson, our server, was like an old friend by the end of our meal. Will definitely make a return trip! Lore Pros: Good food/Good service Cons: None I can think of! more

Best in Nashville 3/6/2008

My husband and I recently visited Whitfield's Restaurant & Bar in Nashville. It was absolutely FABULOUS. We were promptly greeted by the hostess. She showed us to a great location to enjoy my meal. Next, our server came quickly to talk and fill our water glasses. We had some questions, and he gladly answered them. He in formed me of their specials of the night. We started out the evening with the Lobster Cheesecake. I ended up eating the Filet Mignon and my husband got the Baseball Sirloin. We finished the night off with the Cinnamon-Sugar Fried Cheesecake. After dinner, the owner came and talked to us. He was fabulous. I reccomend this restaurant more than any other restaurant in Nashville. I have lived here for 10 years and this place is BY FAR the best. Because of the excellent service, prompt seating, delicious food, and a great atmosphere, Whitfield's Restaurant is amazing. Pros: Ambience, Service, Food more

Everything is perfect 2/1/2008

I have been to Whitfield's many times, and I have never been disappointed. The service is always good, and it seems to get better every time I go there. The owners are very attentive, and take the time to make sure each table is getting the proper service. The atmosphere is nice and comfortable. It is an elegant restaurant yet you never feel uncomfortable. They changed ownership and got a new chef about a year ago, and ever since then the food has been phenomenal. I usually get the special, because it is always a one of a kind dish where each item blends perfectly. I would put their food up against any other restaurant in the Nashville area, and the prices are very reasonable for what you will get. It is probably my favorite restaurant in Nashville, and I would recommend Whitfield's to anyone. Trust me you will not be disappointed if you choose to go here. Pros: Food, wine, service Cons: Nothing more

YUM! 6/22/2007

I just moved here from Atlanta and was told by a neighbor to try out this local spot. I went to dinner with my husband a few weeks ago and we have been back 3 times since. The food is wonderful, the staff is accomodating and pleasant, and the prices are very fair. This is a nice place with great food. Pros: service, food, location more

Great Experience 3/2/2007

Really great restaurant. I came here with a group of girlfriends last week and we had a wonderful time. The food was delicious and the waiter that we had was very fun and entertaining. He recommeneded a very nice bottle of wine. At first I thought he was only telling us to get that particular bottle because it was a a little on the pricey side, but then he informed us that it was half price. Great deal! All of their bottles are half price on tuesdays. My friends and I have decided to make this our weekly girls night out spot. I Pros: half price wine bottles on tuesday, food, service Cons: wish they were opened for lunch more

Better than ever! 2/16/2007

I went to Whitfield's for the first time about six months ago and it was pretty good, I went again last week and they have changed ownership and have a refreshing new menu. My food was WONDERFUL. I started out with an appetizer of hand dipped coconut shrimp. the shrimp were huge and the wasabi marmalade dipping sauce was a perfect accompanimant. I had the fresh fish special which was a pan seared amberjack. It was served with israeli cous cous and raimbow chard. the flavors melded together deliciously. Dessert was my favorite part of the evening. I had creme brulee. It was decadent.. from the perfectly crispy camelized sugar topping to the rich creamy center i devoured every last bite. My service was great and the owner and chef (who is also an owner) both came to my table to make sure my experience was enjoyable. I really enjoyed Whitfield's. I will definitely go back. Pros: great food, great service more

Great Neighborhood Treasure! 1/11/2007

This has got to be one of the best places I have found since I have moved to Nashville. The atmosphere is upscale yet comfortable. It is a great place to go on a date or to just stop by for a drink after work. The food is excellent too! I love their pistachio encrusted shrimp appetizer and the prime rib is to die for. They also have a great happy hour (5pm-7pm) with $3 drink specials and two for one beers. I have been to Whitfield's several times and I have always enjoyed my entire dining experience immensely. If you have not been to Whitfield's yet I highly suggest you go. If you don't give this place a try you will seriously be missing out. Only one warning: you might get hooked! Pros: great food, great drink specials more

Best kept secret in town! 12/13/2006

I have been to Whitfield's many times now and I always have a great meal and great service. For those of you who don't know where it is located, it is in the building where the Belle Meade Brasserie used to be. The food is excellent and the drink menu is extensive and pleasing. The staff is always friendly and the bartender takes the time to remember what you drink, so the next time you return she knows exactly what you want. I have reccomended this place to many people and I have never heard a negative comment about it. I would highly suggest eating here the food is excellent and the prices are easy on the wallet. Pros: great food, great service more
