The wife and decided to try Whiteys Fish Camp.. I had told her about it from my days living and growing up in Orange Park and graduating from Orange Park High.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FOOD EVER 5/8/2011

This restaurant is a big restaurant and not much smaller than a well built Captain'D. The restaurant has a Seafood pier house look to it from the outside. The decor and table and chairs are tasteful, although not very authentic. more

""Fresh Fish"" 4/29/2011

Its a great location but....Ive had fresh fish...it doesnt taste fresh.....the cole slaw...two bites and its gone! The food needs to be better! more

A pleasant surprise 3/20/2011

We thought we were taking a ride to a ""So So"" restaurant where we could have Sunday breakfast early on the water. WOW ,me being a 4 star chef I was pleasantly surprised! Eggs Benedict with REAL homemade Hollandaise sauce and a generous, perfectly prepared thick slice of ham. Smooth creamy cheese grits and sausage gravy made from scratch on homemade biscuits. A giant homemade pancake and great coffee.WOW you have a hard time finding that at any hotel. Served very unpretentious but acceptable. And when the under $20.00 check came we said "" This is great""! We will be back for another meal. Service was a little slow , had to wait for place settings after food arrived but server was pleasant. Atmosphere was a REAL well planned fish camp decor with lots to look at along with the water view. The whole place was very clean. Hats off to the owners! Chad and Sylvia more

Whitey's fish Crap 10/11/2010

I live 1/2 mile from whitey's. It must be the most well known eatery in The three county area. I have eaten there a half dozen times and each time I say it's the last. I guess it is because I ride by several times a day and they are usually packed and I return to see what I am missing. So far it is sub-par food, over priced and tonite the service was extremely poor. It seems like at times they have the attitude that the geography is eatable so why worry about the food. Save your money, go to Capt-D's and stare at the parking lot. more

Take a friend to Lunch! 3/13/2010

A must visit when in Clay, Orange Park, or jacksonville, FL. Favorite of the local's and has long history in the area. Great menu choices and kid friendly. Come by car or boat. Bait shop on premises, so bring your rod and reel! Pros: Good food, fair price, fishcamp atmosphere. Cons: sometimes crowded, parking limited. more

Disappointed Fleming Islander 9/11/2008

I have to tell you that I've been to Whitey's on many occasions over the past 14 years. I have not one time had a meal that I enjoyed. To top it off, they have gotten increasingly worse over time and their prices are a bit high. I decided to give it one last try a few months ago and remembered very quickly why I no longer want to eat there. I use to enjoy going there to have a few drinks and listening to the bands but I no longer am a patron there. The owners and management treat their employs with disrespect and are just downright hateful. I know a young man who worked there that was pushed out due to a female patron accusing him of sexual harrassment. This woman was 30-40 years older than this young man and she was plastered. He was told she had been a long time patron and he was forced out. So, they took her drunken word over his not even giving him the opportunity to comment on it. This young man is the last person on earth who would do that to someone much less a woman w more

Nothing Special - not worth the time 3/9/2008

Unprofessional wait staff. I had the highly recommended catfish and I've had better frozen fish from Mrs. Pauls. We were very disappointed and I wouldn't even go back for a free meal. Pros: Waterfront outdoor dining Cons: Food not good. more

Two bad experiences 2/22/2008

The staff were rude and unorganized. Twice I have been there asking for seating outside. One person tells you where to sit, another tells you not to sit. Another time, before we had a chance to tip the waitress, she threw the change for the bill across our table. We had to chase her down to give her the tip. I didn't think the food was that great. Pros: It has an outdoor setting on the water. Cons: Good luck getting a seat. more

Nice view! 2/9/2008

It is a great place to meet after work to have a drink, sit and enjoy the weather and the scenery. The food is pretty good, but not on the most healthy side. Most of the best items are battered and deep fried.\r PRO: Nice view\r CON: fatty foods more

Great Seafood. 2/5/2008

This is te place to be. The outside dining area is a plus. I love the new building! OVER ALL GREAT RESTAURANT! Pros: Outside Dining Cons: Heat! (But they can't control that) more

Authentic Fish Camp Food 5/31/2007

When you want good fresh fish Whitey's is THE place. In a newly remodeled building, right on the river, you can still pretend you are eating somewhere in the 1950's (except for prices of course). They have a tiny little salad bar, but it is really good, and only one of three we have found in Jacksonville. I love the catfish fillets, which are always perfectly prepared, sweet and fresh. Husband enjoys mahi grilled. Terrific hush puppies, great grits. Son always eats alligator and claims to love it. Overall service is usually prompt and very friendly. Save room for some yummy cake, unless it is the last piece and has been sitting unwrapped in the refrigerator for three days, it is about the best dessert in the city. (They will slice it up and put it into ""to go"" cartons if you are too full). Pros: Great seafood - yummy cake is terrific Cons: Rarely yummy cake is stale and we are home and bitterly disappointed more

Good Times....Good Times 6/29/2006

Whiteys Fish Camp has been here long before most of the fleming Island population. They have a good amount of business on the weekend. I go there for the beer and oysters. They expanded with an outdoor oyster bar. There is a dock so you can come by boat. They have darts and pool tables. Their food is not the greatest, I have tried a few different things on the menu. Mostly grease fried. It's down home great time. PROS: Fun people, on the water, good drinks CONS: Stick to the drinks, the food is so-so. more

Some good some bad.... 11/7/2005

We have had mixed experiences here. Either the service is terrible and the food is great or the food is terrible and the service is great. We have yet to have a middle of the road experience. more
