Don't let a single poor rating keep you away from Whitey's Army Navy Stores (both in Medina and Berea). The owner is a genuinely good man, as are the staff, who all remember my name when I come in. This is a great place for outdoor gear at a very fair price. Try comparing their prices to that of a larger, chain store and you won't get a better deal than at Whitey's. I once bought a pair of wool hiking socks at a large outdoor shop then found the same pair two weeks later at Whitey's for about $4 cheaper. Overall a GREAT place to go for EXCELLENT service. more

I took my Dad there this afternoon..the review I read..was positive..we called first and they said they had what my Dad wanted..got there and the 'young'..""person"" who 'acted' like he 'owned' the place..was NOT nice to my Dad..my Dad was nice and polite..this 'person' was really acting snooty..and DID NOT have what they told my Dad they had..I drove ALL that way for nothing..I'll NOT recommend this 'place' to ANYONE!!! This was a waste of gas..to be treated so badly..I had to leave, the DISRESPECT shown my father was very inappropriate..SHAME ON YOU!!!!! Pros: parking was ok... Cons: the 'help' leaves a lot to be desired..like acting human... more

Good selection, good prices. 11/11/2007

I've purchased a few things here. I got a camo lightweight blanket here. Also found\r enormous winter shoes for a 6'6"" tall friend. Good selection, very nice people.\r Well stocked merchandise of this nature.\r I also found a patch with the Challeneger Shuttle on it...good prices. Pros: Excellent variety of merchandise, good prices, nice staff. Across street from good coffee. Cons: Busy square area. Sometimes parking could be a bit of a challenge. more
