I was assured by the Administrator that this was a facility specializing in people with dementia. My aunt, that has been diagnosed with dementia, was allowed to leave the premises and walk to a major highway after living at Whitehaven for only 3 days. I was not informed of this by the Administrator or the Owner. A visiting relative recognized one of the workers from high school and she was the one who told my relative about the incident. Weeks later, my aunt still adamantly says she was "snatched" by the back of her neck and put into a car. I requested a meeting with the Owner to ask for a refund of the $1,700 I had paid (my aunt was only there 6 days) and was refused any refund. In addition, the Owner, who I had never met, was hostile, unprofessional and rude. Money is the only thing that matters to the people who run/own this facility. DO NOT consider this facility if you have a loved one who needs specialized care. In the multiple visits that I made to Whitehaven, I never met any staff member, including the Administrator, that had any medical credentials (RN, LPN, etc).
