The new owners have had it since last August. They brought all of John and Christina's old recipes back. The food reminds me of the old days. The two guys are very friendly and accomendating. I have been going weekly the last 6 months. I have had 3 caterings from them. Always a great value. A must try!!!! Pros: Best Chicken in Town!!! more

Well, I heard that there are new owners yet again (as of like this month). They did say though that they have re-hired the old cook that worked for the original owners for like 12 years to get it back to where it used to be originally. It wasn't in business for that long for having bad food so I'm going to try it again if they are going to use some of the old recipes. I'll let you know what I find out! more

While I feel for the other writers with regard to bad food (I got sick the other night after eating at a ""nice"" restaurant downtown), I am compelled to defend the White Eagle Deli. I am a professional who works downtown and had heard from several people that it was the place to go. Thus, I have already eaten there three times. My experience has been that the food, while a little on the light side (I'm a big dude), is fresh and good tasting. Also, the prices are unbeatable for the product delivered. Finally, I met the owner and the other owner's mother and they were pleasant and accommodating. The only thing I can think is that the disgruntled writers got there in the midst of transition from the previous owners. Those times can be frustrating as I'm sure most of us would agree. I suggest each of writers contact the owners, mention their negative experience, and try it again. After all, the White Eagle Deli has been around for a long time and I believe the new owners wish to honor its rich history as well as please the neighbors and dedicated patrons. more

I have lived down the street from this Deli for years and have eaten there many times...ordered many deli trays just this last Christmas season...Have not eaten there since then...today I did...when I entered I noticed a change and I asked if is had changed owners again and YES it did....took my food home...the potato salad was awful...after 2 bites...I trashed it...the sandwich was not up to par at all bread seemed almost stale and alot less meat than they use to put on...my reason for ending up at this site was to see if anyone else noticed a change...now after reading I sit and wait to see if I too get sick...sure hope not.. Cons: parking, bad food more

Never eat at the white eagle deli again. The owner is the rudest person on the planet and one of the workers told me they buy their food at Town Talk once it has expired and serve it to their customers all week long! This is the second time I have gotten sick from there since they?ve re-opened. Cons: expired food, filthy environment, no parking more
