Whitaker Wellness Center is located off Goodlette Frank Road in Naples. It's set back from the road a ways but isn't too hard to find.
This gym is owned by Naples Community Hospital and all hospital employees get membership for only $20 a month.
The hospital owns two gyms, this one is the first and oldest and it definitely shows!
The equipment is older and out of date. The treadmills are creaky and unstable. The strength machines are stiff and uncomfortable.
This gym does have some positives though, they have an awesome indoor track circling around the cardio and strength machines. Whitaker also has a large pool with very convenient open swim times. They also have a steam room, sauna and whirlpool. My favorite part of this gym is their classes. One of the best classes I've ever taken is the Group Power class. This body sculpting class is taught by an awesome group of instructors that really challenge and motivate their students to push hard and get fit.
Unfortunately, this gym is closing next month... the positive? NCH has spent the past year building another, more up-to-date gym just a few blocks away! Although I'll miss Whitaker, I can't wait to visit the new gym!
