I do not think that Whistlin' Dixie has any kind of "great" barbeque. I was not impressed with them at all! They are about $7 a plate, and they have the food all sitting out buffet style. I think that the BBQ tasted old, and the sides and veggies were a little soggy. I have had much better BBQ, and for a whole lot less. Look for somewhere else to go for dinner! more

Nasty BBQ 10/26/2005

I don't know what the previous reviewers consider authentic Texas BBQ - but the one I found at Whistlin' Dixie tasted like warmed over leftovers from last weekend's tail-gate party. The $6.95 price for all you can eat should've tipped me off regarding quality. They served beef brisket, pulled-pork, chicken, sausage, beef ribs, and pork riblets during my visit and the best thing they had there was their fried onion rings. Though on a steam table and under a heat lamp, the food was cold. The brisket tasted like jerky and the sausage looked withered like it would if you nuked it in the microwave for 20 minutes on high setting. more

Amazing BBQ 9/13/2005

Whislin' Dixie is probably one of the best places to go to for BBQ. Its buffet seems limited at first, but when you consider all the kinds of meat and how each of the different kinds of BBQ sauce compliment each one, an endless amount of possibilities is created. The service is really good, and the meat is very tender. The only thing one should remember before coming is to come hungry, because it will take a large appetite to fully sample all that this restaurant will have to offer. The price is decent considering the amount and quality of food. more

Great BBQ 9/7/2005

Awesome BBQ place. I've been here a few times and I usually just go for the buffet. It is one of the smaller buffets, but don’t let this stop you from eating here. Their food is excellent and their sauces just top it off. There are I think 3 different types of BBQ, each one is as good as the next. Great overall restaurants, highly recommended. more
