Very disappointed in this place means ZERO Stars !!!! We had a reservation, which I made several weeks ago. After a long day of driving and dropping my son off at winter camp, we arrive to an empty office. I call Aaron, who I made the reservation with, and he says they ""double booked"" ... It's getting dark, it's a holiday weekend and my mom, my cousin and myself have no where to stay. Aaron said they rented all cabins out to a college film crew for $3000 for 10 days, and gave our reservation away (we were going to be paying about $600 for the 3 nights). It was very upsetting and Whispering Pines didn't even have the decency to have a place for us to go to. Big Bear was completely booked. We ended up at a hotel in Redlands, which we had to find ourselves (almost an hr drive).
Aaron's only compensation was ""I can offer you a free stay next time you come for as long as you want"". Ya, not okay !!! You left us stranded and I spent a fortune on gas driving up and down that mountain for 3 days !!!
We never saw inside the cabins, but I can tell you the front of the property is not maintained. The cars on the driveway needed chains. The snow had turned to ice and was not cleared away. An accident waiting to happen....
I do not recommend this place to anyone. We were greatly inconvenienced and when I voiced my upset via phone and email, there was nothing they did also they did not respond to my email and didn't care to do anything over the phone except state how much the college kids were paying and they are sorry they double booked. First rule when you double book is that you find a place for the inconvenienced guests to stay and compensate for your mistake, you did nothing !!
